Brand:

Bijur Delimon Airmatic Pneumatic Oil Lubricator

Description

A simple shop-air pump for cyclic oil lubrication

The Airmatic lubricator is a simple, economical unit for centralized oil lubrication that runs on shop air. An air-actuated, spring-return piston pump gives an adjustable output of 2 to 10 cc per stroke at discharge pressures up to 500 psi, and the stroke setting is easy to adjust to suit many industrial needs.

It is supplied with a 1, 4 or 12 litre reservoir and is used in cyclic oil systems: single line resistance (SLR), positive displacement injector (PDI), progressive distribution and injector systems. A built-in pressure relief device lets PDIs reset after discharge.

System design and air supply

For extended service the incoming air must be dry; use a suitable filter/regulator/lubricator unit and normally a 3/2-way solenoid valve to control and vent the pump air inlet. For PDI systems the recommended maximum discharge is 10 cc per stroke. If the distribution system uses a lot of flexible hose, add a correction to the pump discharge: 0.030 per foot of 5/16 in. O.D. hose or 0.035 per foot of 7/16 in. O.D. hose. See pumps and lubrication equipment and the related SKF TLMR dispenser.

How the Bijur Delimon Airmatic works

The Airmatic is a small pump driven by shop air. Air pushes a piston forward and a spring returns it. Each stroke delivers a set amount of oil, between 2 and 10 cc, and the setting is adjusted by hand. The air to oil pressure ratio is 1 to 4, so 80 psi of air gives a good oil pressure for the lines. A solenoid valve on the air supply, or a timer, gives the cycle. The oil then moves through the lines to the metering devices.

Where the Bijur Delimon Airmatic is used

  • Single line resistance systems
  • Positive displacement injector systems
  • Progressive distribution systems
  • Machine tools and presses
  • Plants where only shop air is at hand

Selection checklist for the Bijur Delimon Airmatic

  • Reservoir of 1, 4 or 12 litres
  • Output mode: SLR, PDI, progressive or injector
  • Output of 2 to 10 cc per stroke
  • Oil viscosity from 150 to 8000 SSU
  • Air supply pressure
  • Low level switch
  • Solenoid valve voltage
  • Cycles per minute, up to 30

Installation, commissioning and maintenance notes for the Airmatic

Mount the pump above or beside the oil lines. Connect the air to the 1/4 in NPTF inlet and the oil line to the 1/8 in NPTF outlet. Fill the reservoir with clean oil. Set the air at about 80 psi for SLR and progressive systems, and the stroke to the volume needed. Prime the lines and watch a few cycles. Check the oil level and the filter often.
