PULS UB10.241 24V 10A DC-UPS Control Unit
Description
A DC-UPS that bridges power failures with a single 12 V battery
The PULS UB10.241 is a DC uninterruptible power supply control unit that is added behind a standard 24 V power supply to bridge mains failures or voltage fluctuations. PULS points out that expensive downtime, long restart cycles and data loss can be avoided this way. Its distinctive feature is that only one 12 V battery is needed to buffer a 24 V output, which removes the matching of battery strings and allows precise charging and testing. The unit includes a battery management system that charges and monitors the battery for long service life, plus diagnostic signals including a replace-battery warning.
The UB10.241 is the controller only. The datasheet lists matching battery modules (UZK12.072, 7 Ah, and UZK12.261, 26 Ah), and a related model, the UBC10.241, includes the same controller with an integrated 5 Ah battery.

How the battery management works
In normal mode the controller passes the supply voltage to the load (about 0.23 V lower) while charging the battery at a constant 1.5 A until the CV stage takes over. A periodic battery test and the replace-battery signal warn before a weak battery fails during an outage. When the input voltage drops below the transfer threshold the unit switches to buffer mode and supplies a stable 24 V output from the 12 V battery through its converter. A deep-discharge protection switches the output off before the battery is damaged, and the selectable buffer-time limiter can end buffering early.
Installation and selection notes
- Place the UB10.241 between the 24 V supply and the load; the battery connects to its own terminals, with reverse-polarity protection.
- Choose battery capacity from the buffer-time curves in the datasheet. The 7 Ah module can be mounted on the DIN rail; the 26 Ah module is panel mounted.
- Observe the battery maker limits; the datasheet allows 3.9 Ah to 40 Ah VRLA batteries and gives a charging time of about 5 hours for 7 Ah.
- Heat shortens battery life, so mount the battery in a cooler position than the controller where possible.
- Accessories in the order list: UZK12.072, UZO12.072, UZK12.261, UZO12.26, ZM1.WALL and ZM10.WALL.
GCC applications
DC-UPS units protect PLCs, SCADA gateways, telemetry and valve-controller circuits in remote pumping stations, wellhead and utility sites where a mains dip must not reset the process. Lead-acid battery life drops quickly in high ambient temperatures, so in desert kiosks plan battery replacement according to the replace-battery signal. When only short bridging of milliseconds to seconds is needed, the UF20.241 capacitor buffer module on this site is a maintenance-free alternative. See the UPS and batteries category.
Selection and installation notes
A DC-UPS control unit works with a regulated 24 V supply and a battery module, so check that the supply has enough power to carry the load and charge the battery at the same time. Use the battery type and size the maker names, mount the battery where the temperature stays moderate, set the buffer time from the load and the battery capacity, test the changeover by switching the mains off and replace the battery at the intervals the manual states.
Information needed for a quotation
Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.
Documents and supply information
The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
