Description
A narrow connector-type PLC for compact panels
The Mitsubishi Electric FX5UC is the connector-type CPU of the MELSEC iQ-F family. It is 24 V DC powered and only 42 mm wide in the 32-point version, so it suits compact control panels, OEM machines and distributed cells. The FX5UC-32MT/DS-TS shown has a spring-clamp terminal block instead of the standard connectors, which makes wiring without crimping possible.
Despite its size the CPU shares the FX5U performance: 64 k or 128 k steps of program memory, 34 ns instructions, SFC programming support and up to 512 I/O points including remote stations. Inputs X0 to X5 accept pulses at 200 kHz on the 32-point models.

Picking the right FX5UC type
Model codes show the wiring and logic: /D has sink inputs and sink outputs; /DSS has sink/source inputs and source outputs; the -TS suffix means a spring-clamp terminal block. The catalogue lists 32-point models with transistor outputs (MT) and a relay version (FX5UC-32MR/DS-TS), plus 64 and 96-point transistor models.
Because the supply is 24 V DC only, a separate power supply is required, and the catalogue lists the FX2NC-100MPCB power cable as an accessory of the connector-type units.
