Brand:

KSB CHTRa Heavy-Duty BB3 Multistage Process Pump to API 610

Description

Axially split multistage pump for high-pressure oil and gas duties

The KSB CHTRa is a heavy-duty BB3 process pump to API 610 / ISO 13709. It is an axially split, multistage, between-bearings pump available in a range of hydraulic sizes with numerous stage counts and material combinations. KSB lists oil and gas, energy, water and wastewater, mining and metal production as industries, and describes it as widely used in other demanding applications that need uncompromising reliability.

An opposed impeller arrangement balances axial thrust, and the first stage can be supplied as a single or double-suction impeller to suit low NPSH duties.

Maintenance and reliability features

Suction and discharge nozzles are integrally cast in the bottom casing half, so pipework does not need to be removed for rotor inspection, and nozzle positions can optionally be changed. Integrally flanged auxiliary connections remove the need for welding on auxiliary connections and bracing on stub pipes. A robust 360 degree mounting flange gives low vibration and long bearing life, and the pump complies with API 610 regarding nozzle loads. A modern machining process gives a uniform flow around the hydraulic profile in the casing.

Selecting a CHTRa pump

For an enquiry collect flow, total head, fluid and specific gravity, suction pressure and NPSH available, operating and maximum temperature, material class and any NACE requirement, plus the driver and speed. The pump is offered with numerous stage counts, so the head requirement fixes the hydraulic size and number of stages.

About brand

Pumps and valves have been the whole business of KSB since 1871, and the Frankenthal company's type series names are a fixture on nameplates in water, building services, energy and process plants. Seven Star LLC lists KSB pump families including Etanorm, Movitec, Multitec and Omega, and supplies KSB pumps and spare parts to operators and contractors in Oman and the GCC, matching each request to the manufacturer's documentation.

KSB pump series we list

  • Etanorm: horizontal single-stage volute casing pump with ratings and main dimensions to EN 733, back pull-out design, replaceable casing wear rings.
  • Movitec: vertical multistage high-pressure pump in ring-section design, with suction and discharge nozzles of the same diameter in line.
  • Multitec: multistage ring-section pump for horizontal or vertical mounting, built in materials from cast iron to duplex stainless steel.

Ordering KSB pumps and parts: what we need

For a spare part, send the type series and size, the KSB order number and serial number from the nameplate, and the part number from the sectional drawing. For a new pump, give flow, head, liquid, temperature, suction conditions, material preference, and motor voltage and frequency. Mechanical seal code and impeller diameter matter on replacements, because one pump size is built in many variants.
