The HIWIN Super S FSC is the flange nut of HIWIN’s Super S ball screw series: a precision ground ball screw with a compact, low-noise nut for CNC and high-speed machinery. The Super S return unit absorbs ball impact, so the nut runs quieter and its diameter is smaller than that of a traditional nut, and the series reaches high acceleration and speed.
A compact, low-noise ground ball screw for fast axes
The catalog presents the Super S as a return-tube ball nut with a specialised return unit. The unit absorbs the impact of the steel balls, which the catalog puts at 5 to 7 dB below the traditional series, and it strengthens the return structure so that the nut reaches a Dm-N value of 220,000. Ordering code and selection
The catalog example R40-10K4-FSC-1200-1600-0.008 reads: R right-hand thread, 40 mm nominal diameter, 10 mm lead, K4 for four turns, FSC for a Super S single flange nut, 1200 mm thread length, 1600 mm total length and a lead accuracy value. A second catalog example, 2R40-40K4-DFSC, is a high-lead double-start screw (start type D). The same lead and diameter can have different ball sizes, so the ball diameter in the table helps to pick the exact variant.
To size the screw, work from the axial load, speed, stroke, accuracy grade and required life, then check the end machining and support units. Before ordering, confirm the nominal diameter, lead, number of turns, preload type, accuracy grade, thread and total length, end machining drawing and any option such as E2 or a DIN version, which must be marked as such.
