Brand: HIWIN
HIWIN QHH-CA Quiet Heavy Load Linear Guideway Block
Description
The HIWIN QHH-CA is the square, heavy load block of the QH series, a quiet linear guideway with SynchMotion technology. The balls are separated by partitions, which lowers noise and rolling resistance fluctuation, and the QH block runs on the same rail as the HG series, so it can be used where noise, dust generation and high speed matter.
A quiet, self-lubricating alternative to the HG block
HIWIN builds the QH on the four-row circular-arc contact of the HG, then adds SynchMotion partitions between the balls. The catalog lists four results: lower noise, because the balls no longer collide; a self-lubricant design, in which the hollow partitions store lubricant that can be refilled; smoother movement, because rolling-resistance variation is reduced; and good high-speed performance. HIWIN reports a 4000 km load test at 5 kN with no damage to balls or raceway, and a 9500 km run at 130 m/min.
Because the QH and HG share identical rails, the designer does not have to change the rail when moving to QH. Listed applications are automation devices, high-speed transportation equipment, precision measuring equipment and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

Ordering code, preload and selection
A QH model number follows the HG pattern: series, block type, size, load type, block mounting, blocks per rail, rail mounting, rail length, accuracy, preload, rails per axis, dust protection and options such as E2 and RC. Interchangeable blocks and rails come in C, H and P accuracy with Z0 or ZA preload; non-interchangeable sets add SP, UP and ZB. The interchangeable rail is ordered as an HGR rail.
Choose ZA for precision machines and measuring equipment, Z0 for light, low-impact transport axes and ZB where rigidity under vibration is needed. This page uses the load ratings in catalog G99TE24-2410; the HIWIN US website quotes 13.88 to 108.72 kN for QH, so confirm the rating basis of your calculation. Confirm size, block type, preload, accuracy, rail length and E values before ordering.
Installing the QHH block and rail
The accuracy of the finished axis depends as much on the mounting surfaces as on the guideway itself. Machine the rail and block seats flat and clean, remove burrs, and wipe away chips and rust-preventive oil before assembly. Push the rail against its reference shoulder and tighten the rail bolts in sequence from the middle towards the ends, using the torque values HIWIN gives for the chosen size. Keep the block on its mounting aid until it is transferred onto the rail, because a block pushed off an unsupported rail end can lose balls and partitions that are hard to recover. When two rails run in parallel, fix the master rail first, then align the second rail to it with the table mounted lightly before tightening everything fully.
Lubrication and running-in
The SynchMotion partitions hold lubricant and reduce how often the block needs attention, but they do not remove the need for it altogether. Lubricate the block before first use as the catalog describes, run the axis through its full stroke several times to spread the grease, and set a relubrication interval from stroke, speed and contamination rather than from the calendar alone. Where the E2 self-lubrication option is fitted, check it as part of routine inspection. Listen to the axis: quiet running is the main reason for choosing a QH block, so a rise in running noise is an early sign that lubrication, alignment or contamination needs attention.
Dust, sand and heat in Omani workshops
Factories and workshops in Oman often have fine airborne dust and sand, especially near open loading bays and at desert sites. Abrasive particles shorten guideway life far faster than load does, so match the dust protection to the machine: the standard end and bottom seals for clean, enclosed axes, and the ZZ, KK or DD arrangements or the RC reinforced cap for dirtier environments. Bellows or telescopic covers over the rail add a further barrier. High summer temperatures can thin grease and speed its loss from the block, so check lubrication more often in the hot months, and store spare blocks and rails sealed in their packaging with rust protection, particularly at coastal plants.
Checks before finalising the selection
Work out the equivalent load on each block from the real moving mass, acceleration and moment loads, and compare it with the C rating of the chosen size on the same rating basis. Check that the block height and width fit the machine envelope using the dimension table above, that the rail length covers the stroke plus block length and end clearance, and that the preload class balances rigidity against running friction. Finally, decide whether interchangeable parts or a matched set is needed, as this determines which accuracy and preload classes are available.

About brand
HIWIN is a Taiwanese maker of linear motion and precision motion components, established in October 1989 and headquartered in Taichung. The range covers linear guideways, ball screws, ball splines, crossed roller bearings, linear motors and servo drives, and Seven Star LLC sources and supplies these components for machine builders, fabrication shops and maintenance teams in Oman.
HIWIN products listed here
This page groups the ball and roller linear guideway series such as HG, EG, WE, MG, CG and RG, the quiet QH and QE series with SynchMotion technology, crossed roller bearings, ball splines and ball screws. The catalog chapter for each series is linked on its product page.
Where linear guideways and ball screws are used
Typical uses are machine tools, packaging and assembly automation, gantry and pick-and-place axes, measuring equipment and semiconductor handling. Ball screws convert rotation to linear motion, guideways carry and guide the moving mass, and crossed roller bearings carry combined loads in rotary tables and robot joints.
What to send with an enquiry
Send the series and size, block or nut type, accuracy class, preload class, rail or shaft length and the quantity. For a replacement, copy the full model number from the label of the part in service.

Frequently Asked Questions
SynchMotion places partitions between the balls so they no longer touch each other. HIWIN states that this reduces noise, smooths movement and allows lubricant to be stored in the partitions.
Yes. The catalog states that the QH and HG series share the identical rails, so an HGR rail is used for interchangeable QH sets.
Six: 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 45. The HG series adds sizes 55 and 65.
The catalog calls it a self-lubricant design because the SynchMotion partitions store lubricant that can be refilled, which reduces how often lubricant must be added.
No. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat that sources HIWIN products through commercial channels and checks the model against the manufacturer catalog before quoting.
