C-TEC CFP702-4 2 Zone Conventional Fire Alarm Panel

Description

The C-TEC CFP702-4 is the two-zone model of C-TEC’s conventional CFP fire alarm control panel range, certified by the LPCB to EN54 parts 2 and 4. Each of its two detector circuits is one zone, so it suits small buildings, offices, stores and workshop units where two fire zones are enough and conventional smoke and heat detectors are specified. Four conventional sounder circuits are built in, which allows alarm devices to be divided by area instead of sharing a single circuit.

Features listed in the manual

The panel provides a selectable zone delay, a zone test facility, resound or no-resound programming for silenced sounders when a new zone goes into alarm, and comprehensive fault diagnostics. Engineering functions include non-latching zones and coincidence (double-knock), which the manual marks as not compliant with EN54-2; the LPCB approval label should not be applied if the panel is configured that way. Access level two is reached by keypad code or keyswitch. Reset and remote outputs, an auxiliary relay, a fault relay and two non-latching inputs (class change and alert) are provided for interfacing with other equipment, and up to eight repeater panels can be added through CFP761 network driver cards.

Planning a conventional system

Count detectors and call points per zone against the manual’s limits of 25 smoke or heat detectors and 32 devices in total per zone, and check cable length (500 m per circuit) and loop impedance. Call points need a resistor of 470 to 680 ohm, and the end-of-line monitoring device modules supplied allow detector removal to be reported. Size the standby batteries from the project duty: the panel takes two 12 V batteries of up to 3.2 Ah, and LPCB approved systems must use the specified 3.2 Ah type. The enclosure can be surface or flush mounted without a bezel, and mains must be fixed wiring on a dedicated, earthed supply. For more zones, the manual covers the four and eight zone models as well, one of which is listed on this site as the C-TEC CFP708-4 eight zone panel.

The linked file is the C-TEC LPCB approved CFP 2/4/8 zone installation and maintenance manual (24 pages, DFU7004010 Rev 4), which covers the CFP702-4 together with the four and eight zone models. Before ordering confirm the number of zones, battery size, repeater needs and the approval the local authority specifies. Related equipment is listed under fire and gas logic controllers. About brand

C-TEC has made life safety electronics in Wigan, United Kingdom since 1981: fire alarm panels, detectors, power supplies, disabled refuge and call systems. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Oman, lists C-TEC panels and detectors such as the XFP501/CA single loop addressable fire panel, the CP416 CAST-PRO addressable optical smoke detector and the CFP708-4 eight zone conventional fire alarm panel.

C-TEC fire alarm families

The manufacturer divides fire systems into conventional and addressable. On the conventional side are the CFP panels in 2 to 8 zones, with ActiV detectors, sounders and call points. On the addressable side, XFP panels cover one or two loops and ZFP panels up to eight, working with C-TEC's own CAST protocol and CAST-PRO devices. Addressable panels are also made for Apollo XP95 and Discovery and for Hochiki ESP devices, so the protocol of a panel must match the detectors on its loop. EN54-4 power supplies, SigTEL refuge systems and EVAC-ALERT panels complete the range.

Ordering C-TEC equipment: what we need

Send the full part number including the suffix after the slash, which separates protocol versions of the same panel. Tell us the detector protocol already on site, the number of loops or zones, and any network or repeater requirement. For projects in the GCC, name the approval the consultant specifies so we request the matching certificates from the manufacturer.
