Beamex ePG Electric Pressure Pump and Controller
Overview
Beamex ePG is a portable, battery-operated electric pressure pump and controller for industrial pressure calibration. It generates pressure and vacuum from −0.85 bar (−12.4 psi) up to 20 bar (300 psi), replacing the manual hand pump that technicians have traditionally used to stroke a transmitter. Using the backlit coarse and fine adjustment buttons, the user simply raises or lowers the pressure to the required test point. The result is a faster, more repeatable calibration with far less physical effort, especially on instruments that need many test points or that are installed in awkward positions.
Seven Star LLC supplies the Beamex ePG on request to instrumentation, calibration and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC, with engineering support in Muscat. The pump works with any pressure calibrator, so a plant that already owns calibrators such as the Druck DPI 620G Genii advanced modular multifunction calibrator can add the Beamex ePG simply by replacing its hand pump, without changing its reference instrument or its procedures.
Pressure Generation Principle
The Beamex ePG contains an electrically driven pump that can work in both directions, creating positive pressure or vacuum at a single G1/8 inch port. The operator selects the target with coarse and fine adjustment buttons, and the controller lets the pressure be set with an adjustability of better than 10 mbar (0.15 psi) across the whole range. Because the pump does the work, a calibration does not depend on the technician’s grip strength or technique, and the pressure can be raised, held and lowered in controlled steps.
Generation time is specified for a connected volume of up to 20 ml: less than 110 seconds to reach 20 bar from zero, and less than 45 seconds to reach −0.85 bar. A 36 micron filter element sits in the pressure port to protect the pump from particles, and the pressure medium must be clean, dry, non-corrosive gas. The ePG generates pressure only; the reading is taken by the reference calibrator or pressure module connected on the same line, which keeps measurement uncertainty entirely with the reference instrument.
Engineering Design of the Beamex ePG
The Beamex ePG is built for use in the field. It measures 231 x 157 x 62 mm without the removable connector, weighs about 2.3 kg, and is water and dust resistant. It can be held and operated with one hand, and a shoulder strap allows the pump to be carried or hung from a rail while the technician works. The body of the pump is made from aluminium, brass, stainless steel and thermoplastic polyester, and food-grade oil is used in the pump mechanism.
Power comes from a field-replaceable 14.4 V lithium-ion battery pack with a status indication and a USB-C connector, charged by a USB Type-C Power Delivery charger. The pack can be charged inside the pump or separately, so a spare battery can keep a long calibration shift running. Common maintenance tasks can be performed by the user, so the pump does not have to travel to the manufacturer for routine service, and the user can keep calibrating with the existing calibrator while the pump is serviced. The standard delivery includes a USB communication cable, charger, pressure T-hose and fittings, and a hard case.
Key Features
The Beamex ePG makes pressure calibration quicker and less tiring:
- Pressure and vacuum range from −0.85 to 20 bar (−12.4 to 300 psi) covers most low and medium pressure industrial transmitters and gauges.
- Backlit coarse and fine adjustment buttons let the user set the required pressure quickly and precisely, with setpoint adjustability below 10 mbar.
- Compatible with any pressure calibrator, so existing reference instruments and procedures stay in use when the hand pump is replaced.
- Fast generation, under 110 seconds to 20 bar and under 45 seconds to full vacuum, shortens the time for each calibration run.
- Field-replaceable lithium-ion battery with a status check and USB-C charging gives long operating time and flexible charging.
- Water and dust resistant, one-hand operation and a shoulder strap suit field work on towers, skids and pipe racks.
- User-serviceable design avoids downtime, because common maintenance does not require sending the pump away.
- Forms a fully automatic documenting pressure calibration system together with the Beamex MC6 family of calibrators.
Industrial Applications
The Beamex ePG is aimed at all industrial pressure calibration: pressure transmitters, analogue and digital pressure indicators, pressure switches, pressure sensors and pneumatic transmitters. The manufacturer names service, power and energy, chemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, water and wastewater, pulp and paper, automotive and oil and gas as industries that benefit. In the Gulf this includes gas plants, refineries, desalination and power stations, where a technician may have dozens of transmitters to verify during a shutdown.
Seven Star LLC helps teams in Sohar, Duqm, Salalah and Muscat match the pump to their calibration programme. The ePG is a natural upgrade for a technician using a squeeze-bulb or hand pump, such as with the Taylor 44S390 squeeze bulb pressure calibrator, and it brings automation when combined with the Beamex MC6 advanced field calibrator. Ask Seven Star LLC for the Beamex ePG datasheet to confirm connection hoses, adapters and accessories for your pressure range before ordering.

Beamex calibrators and accessories listed here
The handheld calibrators differ mainly in scope:- MC6: advanced field calibrator and communicator
- MC6-Ex: the intrinsically safe field calibrator for hazardous areas
- MC4: documenting process calibrator
- MC2: hand-held process calibrator
Where Beamex calibrators are used
Any plant with a calibration program is a user: oil and gas facilities, power stations, water utilities, pharmaceutical and food plants across the GCC. A documenting calibrator stores the as-found and as-left results of each test, so they can be transferred to calibration software instead of being written down by hand. In classified areas the MC6-Ex lets work continue without a hot work permit for the instrument itself.Ordering Beamex calibrators: what we need
A Beamex calibrator is configured to order. Tell us the model, the internal pressure module ranges, any external pressure modules, the communicator protocols you need (for example HART), and the accessories: pumps, hoses, cases and test leads. For the MB state the temperature range. If you need accredited calibration certificates from the manufacturer, say so at the start because it is an order option.Browse Beamex products by category: Portable Test & Measurement.
