Blue-White C2 CHEM-FEED Diaphragm Metering Pump 62.5 LPH

C2 is a motor-driven CHEM-FEED diaphragm metering pump from Blue-White, delivering 0.09 to 62.5 litres per hour at up to 12 bar (175 psi). Its DiaFlex diaphragm, PVDF liquid end and diaphragm failure detection suit continuous dosing of aggressive treatment chemicals into pressurised water lines.

Mid-range diaphragm dosing pump for pressurised injection

The C2 uses a brushed DC motor with a mechanical cam and a speed range of 1 to 100 percent (100:1) at a maximum of 166 strokes per minute. Five stroke and diaphragm combinations are listed, from the Micro-Feed versions (0.02 to 2.3 GPH and 0.04 to 4.0 GPH at 150 psi) to the large-diaphragm 0.165 to 16.5 GPH model at 175 psi.

Two control levels are offered. The C2F has manual speed control, remote start/stop and the DFD/FVS alarm output. The C2V adds 4-20 mA input and output, frequency input, pulse batching and a motor-active output. Diaphragm Failure Detection senses chemical in the pump head, and the manual describes the system as designed to stop the pump on a diaphragm failure.

The code reads C2 [F or V] [voltage] [cam] [electrical] [elastomer] [fitting] [diaphragm], for example C2F2441XVA. Voltage digits: 4 is 115 V/60 Hz NEMA 5/15, 5 is 230 V/60 Hz NEMA 6/15, 6 is 220 V/50 Hz CEE 7/VII, 8 is 240 V/50 Hz AS 3112 and 9 is 230 V/50 Hz BS 1363. Cam digits 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 select the stroke and diaphragm sizes in the table above. Elastomer V is TFE/P, E is EP.

Fitting codes A to F cover hose barb, male or female NPT and 3/8 in OD tube compression layouts, each with an injection fitting. Add S for the Flex-A-Prene diaphragm when pumping caustic soda; the standard DiaFlex diaphragm is the default.

Installation and operation notes

Install close to the supply tank, injection point and power. Stainless-steel mounting brackets are included, and an extended-bracket set (72000-380) lifts the pump 4.5 in for access on floors, shelves or skids. Keep both lines short, because discharge-line length adds back pressure at the pump head.

The manual states that a back-flow prevention check valve is essential on the discharge, a pressure relief valve is recommended, and the 4-20 mA outputs and DFD relay use terminals described in the wiring diagrams. Priming takes about 60 seconds from the priming mode.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

C2 pumps are typical for sodium hypochlorite, ferric chloride, sodium bisulfite and antiscalant dosing at cooling towers, boiler feed, desalination pretreatment and swimming-pool plants. Their 12 bar capability allows injection straight into pressurised mains where a smaller pump would stall.

The datasheet lists a 14 to 110 F (46 C) ambient range, so in the Gulf keep the pump in a shaded or ventilated enclosure; the enclosure is NEMA 4X, but solar heating is not covered by the sheet.

Selection and installation notes

A dosing or metering pump is selected from the flow range, the back pressure, the chemical and the control signal. Check that the liquid end and the seals are compatible with the chemical, fit an injection valve and a pressure relief valve on the discharge, prime the pump and calibrate the flow with a measuring cylinder at the working pressure, wear the protective equipment the chemical safety sheet requires and keep spare diaphragms and valves.
