Blue-White A1 FLEXFLO Peristaltic Metering Pump

Description

A1 is the smallest pump in the Blue-White FLEXFLO peristaltic range: a compact, brushless DC dosing pump that meters 0.011 to 21.2 litres per hour against up to 6.89 bar from a NEMA 4X enclosure. It is built for low-volume chemical feed such as hypochlorite, biocide, antiscalant or pH-correction dosing.

Small peristaltic dosing pump with a 2,000:1 speed range

A peristaltic pump moves fluid by squeezing a flexible tube with rollers, so the chemical touches only the tube and its fittings. The A1 datasheet lists a brushless DC motor of 42 W, a maximum of 65 rpm and a speed adjustment resolution of 2,000:1 (0.05 to 100 percent). The slowest tube option delivers as little as 0.001 gallons per hour.

The pump ships in two control levels. The A1B base model gives a digital speed display and manual speed control. The A1C control model adds a 4-20 mA input and output, remote start/stop, and outputs for tube failure detection (TFD+), flow verification (FVS) and motor status, with IP67 M12 five-pin signal connectors. Both include the TFD+ sensor, which senses a tube rupture and stops the pump so that chemical does not leak into the housing.

Key features as printed in the datasheet

Selection and ordering guide

The model code follows the pattern A1 [control] [power cord] [tube] – [connection], for example A1B41T. Control B is manual speed only; control C adds the 4-20 mA and relay I/O. The power-cord digit selects 4 for 115 V NEMA 5/15 or 6 for 220 V CEE 7/VII, and X for no cord; the datasheet gives the operating voltage requirement as 96 to 264 VAC. Connection T is a 3/8 in OD x 1/4 in tube compression fitting, M a 1/2 in male NPT, MB a 1/2 in male BSPT in natural PVDF.

Pick the tube from the pressure and temperature you need, not only the flow. Tubes 4 and 6 hold 100 psi, tubes 6 and 7 tolerate 185 F fluid, and tube 3 gives the highest flow at 50 psi. Flow figures follow roughly 30 minutes of tube break-in per the manual.

Installation and operation notes

The manual asks for a secure, solid wall or surface close to the injection point, with the suction and discharge tubing kept as short as possible because a longer discharge line raises back pressure on the tube. A snap-in wall-mount bracket (90002-685) and screws are included. Do not mount it directly over the chemical tank, because fumes can damage the unit.

Mounting below the chemical container gives a flooded suction that reduces output error, but then a shut-off valve or pinch clamp is needed during service. Fit a back-flow prevention check valve on the discharge side and, as recommended, a pressure relief valve. Keep signal and AC power wiring separated, and do not leave M12 connectors exposed.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

At 46 C maximum ambient the A1 is suitable for shaded plant rooms and covered skids in the Gulf, but the datasheet does not claim operation in direct summer sun; shade the unit and the chemical tank. The pump is typically specified for hypochlorite and chlorine-dioxide precursors at small water systems, cooling-tower biocide and inhibitor feed, boiler-water conditioning, RO antiscalant and pH-trim dosing; check your chemical against the Blue-White tube compatibility guide referenced in the manual.

The C model 4-20 mA input lets a PLC pace the pump.

Compatible accessories and related items

The datasheet lists STAR III tanks (KIT-S07, KIT-S15, KIT-S30 for 7, 15 and 30 gallons), the KIT-PSM wall-mount bracket, A-050, A-100 and A-150 silicone oil, the TI40-6V injector, the C-340A foot valve, KIT-M12 cables and region power cords 90010-663 to 90010-666 and 90010-696. These are sold separately.
