SEKO Spring MSV Compact Mechanical Diaphragm Dosing Pump

The SEKO Spring MSV is a compact motor-driven mechanical diaphragm pump with a vertically mounted 0.06 kW motor inside a PVC housing. It delivers 10 to 120 l/h at up to 5 bar from a 70 mm diaphragm, with a dual-cam mechanism that SEKO describes as stable, low-noise and precise.

It fills the gap between small solenoid pumps and the larger Spring MS1: simple construction, a reduced footprint and a head in SS316 or PVDF.

A small, quiet metering pump for continuous duty

The MSV electric motor drives the plunger back and forth, drawing the membrane to create suction from the supply chamber, then pushing the ball up to squeeze liquid onward. Flow is adjusted by stroke length, from 10 to 120 l/h. Because the motor and cam are enclosed in a robust plastic case, the pump suits wet, corrosive plant rooms, such as chlorination rooms and chemical dosing stations, where painted steel housings corrode. The datasheet notes it can pump a wide range of viscous liquids, slurries and chemicals with a high level of repeat accuracy.

For the 120 l/h model pick H stroke length with R rate; it is limited to 3 bar, while every other model reaches 5 bar.

Mounting and use

The vertical motor keeps the footprint small, so the MSV fits inside tight chemical cabinets. Support the pump on a flat base, keep discharge lines short and fit a back-pressure valve if the line can siphon. The datasheet gives +5 to +45 C ambient, so in outdoor Gulf summers place the pump in shade. Check the pump head material against your chemical: PVDF handles acids, hypochlorite and many solvents; SS316 handles alkalis and organics.

Typical GCC applications

Small chlorination skids at remote water wells and villages, anti-foam and biocide feed for cooling towers, caustic and acid metering for effluent neutralisation, and chemical feed in food and beverage plants. The MSV is not marked for hazardous areas.

Selection and installation notes

A dosing pump is sized from the flow and pressure at the injection point, so confirm the chemical, its concentration and temperature, the head and seal materials, the back pressure and the stroke or speed range before ordering. Fit an injection valve and a suction strainer, keep the suction line short, prime the pump before use, and use a pressure relief valve on the delivery side. Wear the protective equipment named on the chemical safety data sheet when servicing the pump.
