Blue-White A5 FLEXFLO Peristaltic Metering Pump 2021 LPH

A5 is the high-capacity member of the Blue-White FLEXFLO peristaltic family, delivering 0.1144 to 2,021 litres per hour (0.0302 to 534 GPH) with a 2,500:1 speed range and up to 4.4 bar. A 5 inch colour touchscreen, tube failure detection and Ethernet, Modbus and Profibus options make it a floor-mounted dosing machine for bulk chemical feed.

A floor-standing peristaltic pump for bulk chemical feed

Where the smaller A-series pumps move millilitres, the A5 uses a 0.6 hp brushless DC motor and a 1.5 inch connection to move up to about 2 cubic metres per hour of fluid (derived from the 2,021 LPH figure). The datasheet lists tube options in Flex-A-Prene (NPP, NLL, NHHL) and Flex-A-Thane (GKK), with the large NPP dual tube giving the 2,021 LPH maximum at 30 psi and the NHHL tube holding 65 psi at lower flow.

The control side matches the smaller touchscreen pumps: 4-20 mA input, pulse input, remote start/stop, 4-20 mA and frequency outputs, one 250 V/6 A relay and three 115 V/1 A alarm outputs, plus EtherNet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP and Profibus DP industrial protocols. Selection and ordering guide

The model matrix reads A5 [power cord] [connection] – [tube] [orientation] [elastomer]. Power cord 4 is a 115 V/60 Hz NEMA 5/15 plug, 6 is 220 V/50 Hz CEE 7/VII and X is none; the operating voltage is user-selectable 115 to 240 VAC. Connection M is a 1.5 in male NPT in polypropylene, B a 1.5 in hose barb. Add R for a right-facing pump head and E for EPDM elastomers instead of the standard Aflas.

Choose the tube by pressure first: NPP gives the highest volume but only 30 psi, NLL gives 50 psi, and NHHL gives 65 psi for the finest dosing. Because every A5 tube is a dual-tube element, each has its own replacement roller assembly code, which the table lists.

Installation and operation notes

At 178 lb the A5 is floor mounted: floor-mounting brackets are supplied and the manual shows the overall height with the bracket as 33.1 in. Place it near the injection point with short suction and discharge lines, on a secure surface that carries the weight, away from dust and chemical or moisture exposure.

A back-flow prevention check valve on the discharge side is advised so that system fluid cannot flow back through the pump during tube replacement or after a rupture, and a pressure relief valve protects the tube if the line blocks. The manual also warns that the pump should be supplied through an isolating transformer or RCD and that M12 wires must never touch while the pump is active.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

The A5 is chosen where a large and steady dose of a viscous or particulate-laden chemical is needed: sodium hypochlorite and caustic transfer at water treatment plants, coagulant and polymer feed, lime or alum slurry, and process additive transfer. Because the chemical only contacts the tube, abrasive and gas-prone liquids that disturb diaphragm pumps are handled in the same way.

For installations in hot Gulf climates remember the 46 C ambient limit and keep the pump out of direct sun. Industrial protocol options allow the pump to be controlled by a PLC without analogue converters.
