Ansul INERGEN iFLOW Regulated Flow Inert Gas System

Description

Regulated discharge for inert gas systems

The Ansul INERGEN system with iFLOW technology delivers INERGEN clean agent into the protected area through a regulated discharge. A conventional inert gas discharge produces peaks in pressure and flow that set the pipe size and venting requirement; Ansul states that the iFLOW system reduces those pressure spikes in the distribution network. That allows smaller-diameter, lower pressure-rated piping and reduced pressure relief venting.

The three iFLOW elements

The iFLOW valve regulates the flow at a nominal 60 bar from the 300 bar storage while keeping the ability to reach 95 percent of the design concentration within 60 or 120 seconds. The horizontal check valve speeds installation by interconnecting containers and, in many cases, removes the need for a discharge manifold. The matrix system lets containers be placed in conventional rows or around obstacles, and containers can be taken from the bank more quickly for recharge and maintenance.

Ansul lists remote storage locations, multiple-hazard protection and a smaller agent storage footprint among the benefits. The brochure applications include air traffic control towers, archives, data centers, machinery spaces, offshore facilities, power generation, refineries, subfloors and switchgear rooms.

What to confirm before ordering

Provide the enclosure volume, the number of hazards, the room-to-store distance and the required discharge time (60 or 120 seconds) so the flow calculation can be run. The overview gives no container sizes or part numbers. For the same agent without regulated flow see the separate INERGEN page.

Documents and quotation

Attached: the Ansul INERGEN System with iFLOW Technology product overview (form F-2013188-01_A4, 2 pages). Treat it as a product summary; detailed ordering data sits in the manufacturer design and installation documents. A quotation request is easiest to answer with the hazard description, quantities and the standard the project follows. See Fire Fighting for related fire protection equipment.

About brand

Ansul is a fire protection brand of Johnson Controls, based in Marinette, Wisconsin, USA. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, quotes Ansul clean agent, carbon dioxide, dry chemical and restaurant fire suppression systems against project requirements.

Ansul fire suppression systems

The manufacturer brochures describe INERGEN and SAPPHIRE clean agent systems, FM-200, high pressure carbon dioxide, the A-101 dry chemical system for vehicles and the R-102 restaurant system. AUTOPULSE control panels with smoke, heat and flame detectors release the gaseous systems, and a lithium-ion risk prevention system watches battery racks for off-gases. Each product page on this site carries the manufacturer brochure so the stated features, approvals and applications can be checked against the source document.

Choosing an Ansul system

The right agent depends on the hazard: clean agents for electronics and archives, carbon dioxide for machinery spaces and flammable liquids, dry chemical for mobile equipment and liquid agent for commercial kitchens. Send the protected volume, the hazard and the project standard so the system can be matched to the manufacturer design documents.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does iFLOW regulate?
The iFLOW valve reduces peak pressure and regulates discharge flow at a nominal 60 bar from a 300 bar system.
Why does regulated flow matter?
Lower pressure spikes allow smaller, lower pressure-rated pipe and reduced venting, according to Ansul.
How fast does the agent discharge?
The iFLOW valve reaches 95 percent of design concentration within 60 or 120 seconds.
What is the iFLOW matrix system?
A container layout that allows rows or placement around objects and faster removal for recharge.
Are part numbers in the brochure?
No. Provide the hazard volume and layout so a design can specify hardware.
