Ansul A-101 Dry Chemical Vehicle Fire Suppression System

Description

Dry chemical fire protection for mobile equipment

The Ansul A-101 fire suppression system is a fixed-nozzle dry chemical system for high-value mobile equipment and vehicles. It discharges ANSUL FORAY multipurpose dry chemical agent, which Ansul says knocks down and suppresses Class A, B and C fires. Tank capacities run from 10 lb to 250 lb (4.5 kg to 113.4 kg), and the system can be designed to flood a volume with agent or to aim at specific high-hazard areas.

Detection and use

The CHECKFIRE system provides the around-the-clock automatic detection and actuation. Its control module is designed to withstand shock, vibration and extreme environmental conditions. The A-101 is described as ideal for mobile equipment used in surface and underground mining, forestry, waste management and construction, and the application list also includes agribusiness, aviation, metal processing, power generation and utilities, transportation and waste processing.

Protecting machines this way is meant to avoid repair and replacement cost, reduce downtime and prevent injuries. Dry chemical agent leaves a residue to clean up after discharge, so the choice against a clean agent depends on the vehicle and its electronics.

What to confirm before ordering

Confirm the machine type, the engine and hydraulic compartment layout, the tank size and mounting space, the operating temperature range and whether manual or automatic actuation is required. The overview lists no part numbers; the label on the pictured tank reads LT-A-101-250.

Documents and quotation

About brand

Ansul is a fire suppression brand of Johnson Controls with its origins in Marinette, Wisconsin, USA. It covers clean agent, inert gas, carbon dioxide, dry chemical and wet chemical systems.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Ansul systems for fire protection contractors and facilities in Oman and the GCC.

Ansul product series

Gaseous systems include the INERGEN clean agent system and the INERGEN iFLOW regulated flow inert gas system, the HYGOOD Inert Gas System 300 (IGS-300), the SAPPHIRE system using FK-5-1-12, the FM-200 clean agent system and the high pressure carbon dioxide system.

Special hazard systems include the R-102 restaurant kitchen system, the A-101 dry chemical vehicle system and a lithium-ion risk prevention system for off-gas detection in battery rooms.

Inert gas systems such as INERGEN and IGS-300 use a blend of naturally occurring gases and leave no residue, while chemical clean agents such as FK-5-1-12 and HFC-227ea need less storage space. Carbon dioxide is used in unoccupied areas, and wet chemical systems such as R-102 protect kitchen cooking appliances, hoods and ducts.

Where Ansul systems are used

Server rooms, control rooms, switchgear rooms and archives, turbine and engine enclosures, commercial kitchens, mining and heavy vehicles, and battery energy storage.

Ordering Ansul systems: what we need

Send the hazard and room volume, the agent preferred, the design standard (NFPA, ISO or local code) and the drawings. Systems must be designed, installed and serviced by qualified fire protection contractors.
