Druck UNIK 5600/5700 Marine-Approved 4-20 mA Pressure Transmitter

Description

A configurable 4-20 mA pressure transmitter with marine approval

The Druck UNIK 5600/5700 is the marine-approved variant of the UNIK 5000 pressure sensing platform. The 5600 uses a 25 mm stainless steel 316L fluid-isolated body and the 5700 a 25 mm titanium body. Both give a two-wire 4 to 20 mA output and are built to order from standard modules, so range, reference, connector and accuracy are chosen at the time of the quotation.

Druck states that the platform covers pressure ranges from 70 mbar (1 psi) to 700 bar (10,000 psi) depending on the material option, with accuracy to 0.04% FS best straight line, frequency response to 3.5 kHz and high overpressure capability. The datasheet lists DNV and China Classification Society marine approvals and an optional IECEx/ATEX intrinsically safe ia Group IIC version.

Ordering structure and selection

The model number is built from the product series, body material, electrical connector, electronics option, compensated temperature range (TA, TB or TC), accuracy grade (A2 improved or A3 premium), calibration, hazardous area code (H0 none, H1 or J1 intrinsically safe) and pressure connector. The datasheet example PTX5672-TA-A2-CA-H0-PA is a 5600 with demountable DIN connector, 0 to 3500 psi absolute.

The intrinsically safe codes are available only with connector options 7, N and P. For ranges above 70 bar a G1/2 or 1/2 NPT adaptor connector, or G1/4 female, must be selected. Depth-cable versions need a cable length, from 1 m up to 100 m.

Marine and level applications

Druck lists trim control as an application: moving fuel, cargo and ballast to keep a ship trimmed, with further pressure points around engines and machinery. The depth-cable versions carry IP68 ratings in the datasheet, for example 200 mH2O for the fixed depth cable and 100 mH2O for the demountable one, so they can also be considered for submerged level measurement where the media is compatible with the wetted material.

Check the media against 316L stainless steel and Hastelloy C276, or grade 2 and 4 titanium for the 5700, and do not use the transmitter with media above 21% oxygen or with strong oxidising agents.

About brand

Druck is a British maker of pressure sensors and pressure calibration instruments, founded in 1972 in Leicester by Mike Bertioli and John Salmon to commercialise silicon piezoresistive pressure sensors; the name is the German word for pressure. Druck joined GE in 2002, later became a Baker Hughes business, and since 1 January 2026 has been part of Crane Company.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Druck calibration equipment and pressure sensors for instrument technicians, calibration labs and offshore users in Oman and the GCC.
