Description
A full-metal weld-immune sensor with IO-Link and IP69K protection
The Contrinex DW-AS-703-M8-697 is a miniature M8 weld-immune inductive sensor with a coated V2A stainless steel body, 3 mm embeddable sensing distance and IO-Link 1.1. It brings the weld-immune and IP68/IP69K properties of the full-inox 700 series into a thread size that fits compact grippers, tooling plates and narrow fixtures.
The printed immunity data are medium-frequency fields up to 15 kA and 50 Hz fields up to 40 mT. The output is PNP normally open on an M12 4-pin connector; this -697 reference is one of several M8 variants, which also include M8 3-pin and pigtail versions on the datasheet.

Selection and installation notes
An M8 sensor is chosen when space is the limit rather than distance: the repeat accuracy is 0.15 mm, the metal-free zone is small (6 mm around the face and 22 mm in front), and the connector version weighs 17 g. The maximum tightening torque is only 8 Nm, so use the correct lock nut torque and avoid reusing the sensor as a mechanical stop.
Confirm the connector type, because the same M8 body is offered with an M12 4-pin connector, an M8 3-pin connector and a pigtail, and check the IO-Link master and PNP input before ordering.

Contrinex product series
Weld-immune inductive sensors include the DW-AS-623-M12-693, DW-AS-623-M18-693 and DW-AS-623-M30-693, which resist the strong magnetic fields of resistance welding.
IO-Link versions include the DW-AS-703-M8-697, DW-AS-703-M12-693, DW-AS-703-M18-693 and DW-AS-713-M30-693, which send switching and diagnostic data to the controller.
