Description
A portable low-pressure calibrator with built-in pressure generation
The Setra MicroCal is an automated, modular pressure calibrator used as a stand-alone calibration standard for differential and gauge pressure sensors in critical environments. It combines on-board pressure control with interchangeable high accuracy reference modules, so the reference can be matched to the range of the unit under test.
Setra developed the pressure control with NASA and states a resolution of 0.0002 inch W.C. per step. A 7 inch touchscreen guides the user step by step, and the manufacturer says calibration time can be reduced by up to 80 percent compared with typical methods. It is aimed at analogue pressure transducers, pressure switches and analogue dial gauges, including HVAC, cleanroom and building pressure instruments.

Using the MicroCal in the field
Because the calibrator generates and holds pressure itself, it can perform checks on installed sensors, switches and gauges without a separate pump or regulator, and the pressure control isolates the test from background process disturbances. An Expert System interface automatically detects and calibrates the Setra Model 269 digital pressure transducer, while the standard interface works with other devices.
The pressure range is low, up to 30 inch W.C., so it is intended for differential pressure work such as cleanroom, ventilation, filter and room pressure monitoring rather than high pressure process calibration.
Ordering and what to confirm
The calibrator part number is built from model, control range, interface type (standard or Expert System, 6 or 12 foot) and options; reference modules are ordered separately by range, and spares such as the battery, desktop charger and electrical interface kit have their own codes. Confirm the pressure ranges you must calibrate, which reference modules cover them, the interface type and whether you need accredited calibration certificates for the calibrator itself. The 264 and 267 measure small air pressure differences, the kind found across a filter, between two rooms or in a duct. The 267 comes in a NEMA 4 housing for wall or duct mounting, with an optional static pressure probe and LCD, and both are ordered by range, unidirectional or bidirectional span and output signal. The 209 is a different instrument: an industrial pressure transducer. The 264 and 267 use Setra's stainless steel capacitive sensing element.

Ordering Setra transducers: what we need
Setra part numbers are long because each character fixes a feature. Copy the full number from the label. If the label is gone, send the model (264, 267 or 209), pressure range and unit, whether the range is one-sided or plus and minus, output (voltage or 4-20 mA), supply, accuracy grade, and pressure and electrical connections. Projects in the GCC often specify a display or a duct probe on the 267, so mention those too.
