Winsonic NE22003-101111 Industrial 4G VPN Router with Dual SIM and 2 Ethernet Ports
Description
A DIN-rail cellular router for remote serial and I/O sites
The NE22003-101111 is an industrial cellular VPN router that provides wireless data connectivity over public and private LTE networks. Two SIM slots allow automatic failover, two 10/100 Ethernet ports serve local equipment, and RS232 plus RS485 interfaces support Serial to IP communication. Winsonic adds two digital inputs and two digital outputs, optional GPS and optional 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
The metal housing measures 106 x 106 x 40 mm, weighs 300 g and clips to a DIN rail. It runs from 9 to 48 V DC with reverse-voltage protection, which allows direct connection to 12 V, 24 V and 48 V sources at unmanned stations.
Power input from 9 to 48 V DC with reverse-voltage protection means the router can be wired to a battery, solar system or 24 V cabinet supply. Current consumption is 100 mA idle and up to 400 mA at peak on a 12 V supply, which is low enough for solar-powered stations. The built-in watchdog and the connection manager, with ping detection and timer reboot, keep the link alive without staff attendance.

Selecting between the NE22 series routers
The NE22003 is the two-port variant with serial and DI/DO. Where four Ethernet ports are needed, Winsonic offers the NE22004-103111 with otherwise similar interfaces. Where 5G is needed see the NE22005-103111 on our site; for the entry model with fewer interfaces see NE22002-101111.
Typical duties include remote pump-station telemetry, RTU back-haul over Modbus gateway apps, energy-meter polling and CCTV uplinks. Check cellular band support and SIM operator compatibility with Winsonic for your region, as the datasheet states LTE capability but does not list bands. Size the antennas and mount the unit inside a ventilated enclosure; IP30 means it is not splash-proof.
Serial devices connect to the RS-232 or RS-485 terminal block, and the Protocol Converter apps convert Modbus, IEC 101 to 104, DNP3, DLMS and BACnet data for upstream systems. The two digital inputs can report door or alarm contacts, and the two outputs can drive relays, subject to the 36 VDC and 100 mA absolute maxima printed in the datasheet. For secure back-haul, up to five tunnels each of OpenVPN, GRE and IPsec can be configured, and the firewall offers port mapping, DMZ and 1:1 NAT.
Set up the SIM first, confirm signal on the RSSI LEDs, then configure the VPN and serial gateway. A reset button restores factory defaults. The operating range is -40 to 85 degrees C, higher than most switch products, which suits roadside and rooftop enclosures. Keep the antenna cables short and use the correct SMA connectors for cellular and Wi-Fi.

About brand
Rail-grade Ethernet switches with M12 connectors, industrial cellular routers and panel PCs are the Winsonic products buyers ask us for most. Winsonic is known as a maker of industrial LCD monitors and touch displays, and the products listed here add networking and computing hardware for places where office equipment does not survive: trains and buses, roadside cabinets, pump stations and factory floors.
Seven Star LLC is the Winsonic agency for Oman and the GCC and lists Winsonic EN 50155 switches, 4G and 5G routers and gateways, SFP transceivers, panel PCs and rack mount monitors.
Winsonic product families
The M12 switches on this page are specified to EN 50155, the standard for electronic equipment on rail vehicles. Listed models include the L2 managed NE10002 and the NE10003 in IP68 housings, the unmanaged NE10004 with 10G ports and IP65 sealing, the unmanaged NE10005 and the 5-port IP68 NE10006, with PoE+ or PoE++ ports depending on the model. On the cellular side the listing covers NE24 series industrial cellular routers and edge gateways, the NE20001 vehicle-grade 5G transit gateway and the NE31001 outdoor LTE-A router. WSFP Gigabit SFP transceivers provide the fiber uplinks. Computing and display products include the PZB zero bezel panel PC and the RM rack mount monitor, next to the flush mount and zero bezel LCD monitors Winsonic builds for industrial use.
Where Winsonic equipment is used
Typical uses are on-board networks for trains, metro cars and buses, wayside cabinets, traffic management, remote pump stations and water plants, energy metering at unmanned sites, and machine monitoring and operator stations in factories.
