OBO 6056326 EKS 60 FS Extra-Heavy Cable Tray 300 mm 3000 mm

Description

6056326 is the OBO Bettermann EKS 60 FS cable tray, type EKS 630 FS: an extra-heavy perforated tray with a 60 mm side height, 300 mm width, 3,000 mm length and 2 mm strip-galvanised steel (DIN EN 10346). Side perforations and base mounting perforations are included; connectors are ordered separately.

The extra-heavy 60 mm tray for dense cable bundles

EKS 60 is OBO’s extra-heavy class in the 60 mm family. Its 2 mm plate is the thickest in the 60 mm series on this site (RKS-Magic 0.75 mm, SKSU 1.5 mm), and at 300 mm width the usable cross-section is 178 cm2 (17,800 mm2). The weight is 606.333 kg per 100 m, about 6.1 kg per metre (derived).

The load table starts at 2.6 kN/m at 1.5 m support spacing and falls to 0.95 kN/m at 3 m; at 2 m it is 1.7 kN/m and at 2.5 m 1.4 kN/m. That makes EKS a good fit for multi-core power cable bundles where hanger spacing needs to be wider than a light tray allows.

Key features as printed in the datasheet

  • 2 mm plate, strip galvanised steel (DIN EN 10346), 60 x 300 x 3000 mm.
  • Perforated base with mounting perforation; side perforation.
  • Straight connectors ordered separately for all versions (OBO statement).
  • Magnetic shield insulation 20 dB / 50 dB without / with cover.
  • IEC 61537 load test type II; 2.6 kN/m at 1.5 m spacing.
  • Usable cross-section 178 cm2.

Selection and ordering guide

Choose EKS 60 when load per metre is the deciding factor and ventilation through the base is wanted. Order straight connectors in the same quantity as joints. If you need a closed base, use the SKSU type; if a wider span is needed, the WKSG wide-span tray (6098566) allows supports out to 8 m.

Note that 6056326 carries a 300 mm width; other EKS widths have their own item numbers in the OBO catalogue.

Installation and operation notes

Hang on threaded rod or brackets within the 1.5 – 3 m range of the load table. Joint with straight connectors and bond to the earthing system.

Do not walk on the tray; the datasheet lists it as not walkable.

Derived figures: a 3 m length weighs about 18.2 kg (606.333 kg per 100 m x 3 m). The permitted 2.6 kN/m at 1.5 m spacing is equivalent to roughly 265 kg per metre (general conversion, not an OBO value), and the usable cross-section of 178 cm2 is about 50 % larger than the 118 cm2 of the 200 mm trays in the same 60 mm series.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Main power risers, switchgear rooms, pumping stations, process-plant pipe racks and utility corridors where heavy cable bundles are laid. Perforation helps heat dissipation, which matters in hot Gulf plant rooms.

Check coating class against local corrosion conditions: strip galvanised zinc is suited to dry indoor spaces.

Site planning tip: the datasheet gives the smallest sales unit as 3 (metres, one length), so quantities are normally ordered in whole 3 m lengths. Add connectors, brackets, bends and covers from the OBO catalogue as separate items, and keep the CO2 footprint figure (17.5565 kg CO2e per metre) in mind if your project reports embodied carbon in its materials.

Installation and selection notes

EKS 60 FS is chosen where a perforated tray must carry a heavy load over wider supports. Use the load table: 2.6 kN/m at 1.5 m, 1.7 kN/m at 2 m, 1.4 kN/m at 2.5 m and 0.95 kN/m at 3 m. Select the support spacing so that the cable weight per metre plus a margin stays under the printed value. At about 6.1 kg per metre the tray itself is heavy, so plan lifting and fixing accordingly, and order the connectors separately as stated by the manufacturer.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC and any accessories such as connectors, covers, bends or fixings, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, dimensions and loads are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.

About brand

OBO Bettermann is a German family-owned manufacturer of electrical installation systems, tracing its origins to 1911, when Franz Bettermann founded a small company in Hingsen, now part of Menden, making brass goods and electrical products. In 1957 it took over a rolling mill in Menden-Bösperde, strengthening its cable support business. The group is still headquartered in Menden, Sauerland.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list OBO cable trays, glands and surge arresters by OBO article number for contractors and panel builders in Oman and the GCC.
