Brand:

MP Filtri FMP High Pressure In-Line Filter, 320 bar

Description

A high pressure filter to protect sensitive components

The MP Filtri FMP series is a range of in-line pressure filters for hydraulic circuits up to 32 MPa (320 bar) and flows up to 500 l/min. It is installed in the delivery line, directly after the pump or ahead of a servo valve, proportional valve or other component that cannot tolerate dirt, and it connects to the system through female threaded or flanged ports up to 1 1/2 inch. The housing has a phosphatized cast iron head and a phosphatized steel bowl, and MP Filtri states a test pressure of 48 MPa and a minimum burst pressure of 96 MPa.

Three body sizes, FMP065, FMP135 and FMP320, cover the flow range. Optional features include a bypass valve, a check valve against reverse flow (FMP320), and visual, electrical or electronic differential clogging indicators.

Selecting a style and element

The ordering code is built as series and size, media, element design, seals, valve style and connection, for example FMP065 A3 S G1 T M25 P01 in the datasheet example. Choose the valve style first. A bypass (styles B, C and D) protects the element from a high pressure drop when it clogs, but unfiltered oil then passes; a filter without bypass (styles S, E and T) needs a high collapse element (H or S) so the element withstands the full differential, which suits servo and proportional protection where unfiltered oil is not acceptable.

Element rating follows the cleanliness your components need. Fine microfiber media (3 to 10 micron) serve servo valves; 16 and 25 micron serve general industrial circuits; the 25 micron wire mesh element is cleanable. MP Filtri recommends its selection software or a sales check for a given pressure drop or viscosity.

What to confirm before ordering

State the size and flow, working pressure, media and rating, bypass or check valve need, port type and size, seal material and the indicator you want. Mounting is vertical. Other housings in this group are listed under filter housings.

About brand

MP Filtri is a family-owned Italian company, founded in 1964 and headquartered in Pessano con Bornago, in the Milan area, that designs hydraulic filters, contamination monitoring systems and power transmission components. Its filters protect pumps, valves and reservoirs in industrial and mobile hydraulic systems.

MP Filtri filter ranges

The catalogue covers high pressure in-line filters, low and medium pressure filters, return and suction filters, spin-on filters, stainless steel and ATEX versions, and high capacity duplex filters. Many housings use the MYclean element interface, which only accepts matching original elements, and clogging indicators, water-removal elements and tank accessories complete the range. Typical duties are pump protection, reservoir return lines, lubrication skids and off-line cleaning of large oil volumes.

Supply from Seven Star LLC

Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, sources MP Filtri housings and elements against the catalogue ordering code and provides the manufacturer documentation with each quotation. Send the model, media, micron rating, connection and indicator.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pressure is the FMP rated for?
MP Filtri gives a maximum working pressure of 32 MPa (320 bar), with a test pressure of 480 bar and a minimum burst pressure of 960 bar.
What is the difference between styles with and without bypass?
A bypass valve opens at 6 bar to relieve excessive drop across a clogged element. Filters without bypass need a high collapse element, and no unfiltered oil passes.
Which micron ratings are available?
Inorganic microfiber at 3, 6, 10, 16 and 25 micron, plus a 25 micron wire mesh element.
Can the FMP be mounted in any position?
MP Filtri states that FMP filters are provided for vertical mounting.
What clogging indicators can be fitted?
Visual, electrical, combined electrical and visual, and electronic indicators including IO-Link and DTA types.
