Brand:

Debem Boxer 100 Air-Operated Double Diaphragm Pump

Description

A 1-inch metal or plastic AODD pump for chemical and process transfer

The Boxer 100 is an air-operated double diaphragm pump from the Debem Boxer range, delivering up to 160 l/min through 1 inch BSPP connections. It is built in polypropylene, conductive polypropylene, PVDF, aluminium or AISI 316 L, so the same size can serve acids and alkalis, solvents, paints, adhesives and slurries. It needs only compressed air, has no motor or seal to burn out, and tolerates running dry and closing the discharge valve.

ATEX and IECEx marking

Standard Boxer pumps carry II 3G Ex h IIB T4 Gc and II 3D Ex h IIIB T135°C Dc X marking for Zone 2 and Zone 22, and I M2 Ex h I Mb X for mining Zone M2 (not for aluminium pumps). On request at order stage the CONDUCT version is built for Zone 1 and Zone 21 with II 2G Ex h IIB T4 Gb and II 2D Ex h IIIB T135°C Db X; with conductive TFM diaphragms the datasheet gives Group IIC, II 2G Ex h IIC T4 Gb. IECEx marking is also listed, and the user remains responsible for classifying the installation zone.

Selection, installation and ordering code

The manual builds the model code from the pump type (IB100 for Boxer 100) followed by letters for body, diaphragms, balls, ball seats, O-rings and version options, so the same flow rate is available in many material combinations. Choose wetted materials against the fluid and temperature first; the manual warns that the buyer is responsible for chemical compatibility. Mount the pump on a rigid support with the arrows on the casing pointing up, connect through metal-reinforced flexible hoses rather than rigid pipe, keep suction within 2.5 m horizontally and below 5 m vertically, and fit a check valve if the vertical delivery exceeds 5 m.

Accessories listed on the datasheet include an Equaflux 200 pulsation damper, a pump truck, foot valve, air regulation kit, batch controller, stroke counter, reinforcement rings and a flange kit. Related sizes in the family are compared below.

About brand

Debem is an Italian industrial pump manufacturer based in Busto Arsizio, near Varese, founded in 1982 by Marco De Bernardi. The company builds air-operated double diaphragm pumps, drum transfer pumps, chemical centrifugal pumps and pulsation dampeners, mainly in polypropylene, PVDF, aluminium and AISI 316 L for aggressive and difficult fluids.

Debem pump families

The Boxer, Cubic and FoodBoxer ranges cover air-operated diaphragm pumps from compact sizes to 600 l/min, with ATEX and IECEx versions listed for explosive atmospheres. The TR series drum pumps use electric or pneumatic motors, while the MB, IM, DM and KM series are horizontal, vertical and magnetic-drive centrifugal pumps for chemical duties. Equaflux pulsation dampeners and pump accessories complete the programme.

Requesting a Debem quotation

Send the fluid, temperature, viscosity, solids content, flow and head, the power supply or compressed air available and any hazardous-zone requirement. The technical sheets and manuals give the material codes and options, so the exact pump configuration can be confirmed before an offer is issued.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Boxer 100 run dry?
Yes. The manual states that Boxer air pumps are self-priming and can run dry, and the speed can be varied during service. Dry suction lift is 4 m with PTFE diaphragms.
What air supply does Boxer 100 need?
Non-lubricated, dried compressed air between 2 bar and 8 bar. The manual asks for an on-off valve, a 3-way valve and a check valve on the air line.
Can it be used in ATEX zones?
Standard pumps are marked for Zone 2 and Zone 22; the CONDUCT version on request covers Zone 1 and Zone 21. The pump must be earthed and the zone classification confirmed by the user.
What viscosity can it handle?
The manual gives negative suction up to 5000 cps at 20 C and 1.4 kg/l, and positive suction up to 20000 cps; higher viscosities need advice from the manufacturer.
Is a strainer required?
Yes. The manual forbids installation without a correctly sized suction strainer where solids may be present, and the pump passes solids only up to its rated diameter.
