Debem Boxer 252 AISI 316 Air-Operated Diaphragm Pump

A 1 1/2 inch AODD pump for high-volume chemical and slurry transfer

The Boxer 252 is the AISI 316 version of the Debem 251/252 pair, a 1 1/2 inch air-operated double diaphragm pump rated to 340 l/min. Boxer 251 is the plastic or aluminium body on the same sheet and Boxer 252 the stainless steel body, so one datasheet serves both polypropylene tank-farm duty and stainless process duty. It passes solids up to 6 mm, which suits sludges, paints, ceramics slip, mining and wastewater sumps.

Where the 252 is specified

At this size the pump is chosen for fast drum, tank and IBC emptying, filter-press feed, chemical dosing of bulk tanks and recirculation. Stainless bodies are common where solvents, fuels or temperatures near 95 C rule out polypropylene, but check the corrosion data for chlorides or acids against AISI 316. The 2 inch Clamp option on the FDA version serves food and cosmetic lines, although the Boxer manual states that the standard Boxer pumps are not intended for alimentary or pharmaceutical fluids, so the FDA configuration must be confirmed at order stage.

Installation notes from the manual

At 340 l/min the pump moves a lot of liquid in each stroke, so give it a rigid base flat to 0.1 mm, earth it for any hazardous area, and connect through metal-cored flexible hoses sized one step above the port for viscous or negative-suction duty. Keep the suction on-off valve fully open. A basket strainer with 1 1/2 inch fittings in PP or PVDF, a truck model 02, a foot valve, an air regulation kit W3000-10-G, a batch controller and a stroke counter are listed as accessories. For Zone 1 and Zone 21 the datasheet prints II 2G Ex h IIC T4 Gb (with conductive TFM diaphragms) beside II 2D Ex h IIIB T135°C Db X, while the mining marking I M2 Ex h I Mb X excludes aluminium pumps. In the Zone 1 CONDUCT version the manual calculates the maximum process fluid temperature as 135 minus 55, giving 80°C.
