EBRO Z 611-A Split-Body Wafer Type Butterfly Valve

Description

A split-body butterfly valve for semi-corrosive media

The Z 611-A is a resilient seated wafer type butterfly valve that EBRO ARMATUREN positions for semi-corrosive media. Its identifying feature is the body: it is split, held together with stainless steel screws, so the seat and bearings can be reached quickly without cutting the pipeline. The disc and shaft are one piece, which removes the shaft-to-disc joint as a leakage and wear point.

The valve is made in sizes DN 50 to DN 300, with a maximum operating pressure of 10 bar and a temperature range from -10 °C to +200 °C, depending on pressure, medium and material. A silicone-free version is available for paint and lacquer applications, and materials complying with FDA standards can be supplied on request.

All dimension letters refer to the drawing of the valve with bare shaft end in accordance with EN ISO 5211, and lengths are in millimetres. The Z 611-A weighs just 2.2 kg at DN 50 and 31.5 kg at DN 300.

Torque and Kv values for actuator and flow sizing

The breakaway torque MD is the first value needed to unseat the disc, measured with liquid and lubricating media. EBRO treats it as a guide because pressure, medium, rubber quality and temperature change the real figure. Multiply by 1.3 for powdery media that do not lubricate, and by 1.2 for dry gases or very viscous media, and add the actuator safety factor on top.

DN MD (Nm) Kv at 30 degrees (m3/h) Kv at 70 degrees (m3/h)
50 9 10.1 65.2
65 18 16.6 157
80 18 20.6 234
100 28 39.8 398
125 45 67.2 652
150 78 97.3 957
200 140 187 1760
250 200 271 2830
300 280 409 4050

Kv is the cubic metres of water per hour passing at 5 to 30 °C with 1 bar of pressure drop; EBRO takes the numbers from tests at the Delft Hydraulics Laboratories in the Netherlands. Flow velocity should stay below 4.5 m/s in liquids and 70 m/s in gases. Throttling is linear between 30 and 70 degrees of opening, and cavitation has to be avoided.

Typical applications

EBRO names the food and beverage industry, purification plants, the pharmaceutical industry, chemical and petrochemical plants, water and waste water, pneumatic materials handling, shipbuilding, power plants and civil engineering. For a water treatment skid, a cooling circuit or a process line with moderate pressure, a split-body valve of this class is easy to inspect and rebuild. The data sheet lists no approvals for this variant, so approvals should be asked for separately where a project needs them.

Information to send with an RFQ for the EBRO Z 611-A Split-Body Wafer Type Butterfly Valve

Valve quotations depend on the service conditions as much as on the size. For the EBRO Z 611-A Split-Body Wafer Type Butterfly Valve, list the nominal size, pressure class, end connection or flange standard, and the medium with its temperature and pressure range. State the required body, seat and seal materials if a specification already exists.

  • Quantity and tag numbers, if the valves belong to a project line list.
  • Operation: lever, gearbox, pneumatic or electric actuator, with any accessories such as limit switches or positioners.
  • Test and certificate requirements, for example material certificates or pressure test reports.
  • Required delivery date and site location in Oman or the wider GCC.

Sending the valve data sheet or line specification lets the configuration be checked before ordering and reduces the risk of receiving a valve that does not match the piping class.

Each quotation for the EBRO Z 611-A Split-Body Wafer Type Butterfly Valve states the exact manufacturer part number, the documents that will accompany the shipment, the expected lead time from the factory and the delivery terms to your site. If the part number on an existing nameplate is incomplete or worn, send a clear photograph of the label and of the installed unit, and the correct ordering code can be confirmed with the manufacturer before the offer is issued.

About brand

EBRO ARMATUREN is a German manufacturer of industrial valves, actuators and automation technology, headquartered in Hagen and part of the Bröer Group. The company has built butterfly valves since 1970 and has developed and produced its own pneumatic and electric actuators since 1985, so valve and drive are matched within one product family.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list EBRO valves and actuators for water, power and process users in Oman and the GCC.
