Donaldson Oilfreepac Smart OFP 0005-0100 Adsorption Dryer
Description
A cartridge-type adsorption dryer with activated carbon polishing, 5 to 100 m3/h
The Donaldson Oilfreepac Smart OFP is a heatless cartridge adsorption dryer that also removes oil vapour, hydrocarbons, taste and odour in an activated carbon stage. It is built for the oil-free air demanded by chemical, food, paint and finish and industrial machinery users, and the sheet quotes air quality to ISO 8573-1 with dryer performance validated to ISO 7183.
Ten sizes in two body groups are offered: MINI types 0005 to 0025 and MIDI types 0035 to 0100, with 5 to 100 m3/h nominal inlet flow. Two versions exist, Standard and Superplus, and the Superplus adds a dew point transmitter, a touch display, dew point control and Industry 4.0 readiness.

Sizes and regeneration air
- 0005: Nominal flow m3/h 5; Average regeneration air m3/h 0.85
- 0025: Nominal flow m3/h 25; Average regeneration air m3/h 4.25
- 0035: Nominal flow m3/h 35; Average regeneration air m3/h 5.95
- 0050: Nominal flow m3/h 50; Average regeneration air m3/h 8.50
- 0100: Nominal flow m3/h 100; Average regeneration air m3/h 17.00
Selected sizes are shown from the ten in the sheet. The sheet also lists the UltraPleat pre- and afterfilter size, the number of desiccant cartridges per adsorber (2 to 12) and the number of activated carbon cartridges per adsorber (2 to 12).
Design features and service
The sheet describes UltraPleat pre- and afterfilters with a filter surface more than 400 percent larger than wrapped media, an oil aerosol efficiency of 99.9 percent or more, and compact desiccant and carbon cartridges replaced one by one without special tools. The dryer stays installed in the pipeline during service. Dew point dependent capacity control and intermittent operation lower the regeneration air use.
Modular options include a display that turns down, rotatable inlet and outlet connections and, on Superplus, independent display mounting. Sizing uses a table of correction factors by pressure (4 to 16 bar) and inlet temperature; the example in the sheet sizes 22 m3/h at 25 C and 12 bar as type 0015. Pre-filtration and the correct inlet condition are required, so confirm both against the plant.
The Oilfreepac Smart sheet quotes the UltraSilencer to ISO 3744 and the pre- and afterfilters to ISO 12500; ask for the declaration of conformity if the plant file needs it. The alarm contact on both versions can be wired to a plant control.

About brand
Donaldson is the American filtration company founded in Minnesota in 1915. It started when Frank Donaldson Sr. built an air cleaner for a tractor engine that kept failing in dusty fields. It is now headquartered in Bloomington, Minnesota, and makes filters and filtration systems for engines, hydraulics, compressed air and gases, dust collection and process liquids.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Donaldson compressed air dryers and filters, gas filter housings, activated carbon adsorbers, hydraulic and fuel filtration and dust collectors, and supply them and their replacement elements in Oman and the GCC.

Compressed air quality is set by ISO 8573-1 classes for particles, water and oil. A typical instrument air system uses a coarse filter and a fine coalescing filter before the dryer, an adsorption dryer for a low pressure dew point (for example -40 °C), and a dust filter after it. An activated carbon stage removes oil vapour where the air touches food or is breathed. Heatless dryers use some of the dry air to regenerate the desiccant, while heat-regenerated and zero-purge types save that air on larger systems.
Where Donaldson products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Donaldson filters and dryers are used for instrument and plant air in oil and gas, refining, power and desalination plants, for breathing air, in food and pharmaceutical production, on hydraulic systems and fuel storage, and in cement and bulk handling.
Ordering Donaldson products: what we need
Send the model and size from the nameplate. For dryers and filters, add the flow (m³/h or scfm), working pressure, inlet temperature, required dew point or ISO 8573-1 class, and the supply voltage. For replacement elements, send the element part number or the housing model.
