Danfoss 061B023466 MBC 5000 Pressure Switch -0.2 to 10 bar
Description
MBC 5000: a compact 0.19 kg pressure switch for engines, gearboxes and pump skids
Danfoss 061B023466 is an MBC 5000, the industrial version of the MBC block-design pressure switches that Danfoss created for machine rooms where space and reliability matter. It weighs only 0.19 kg, connects through a G 1/4 female thread and a DIN plug, and holds IP65. The data sheet names alarm indication, shut-down, control and diagnostics on motors, gears, thrusters, pumps, filters and compressors as typical duties.
The factory setting of this code is 0.75 bar with a falling alarm signal, which means it is shipped ready to act as a low-pressure alarm, for instance for lubrication oil. The range reaches from -0.2 to 10 bar, and the differential stays low and fixed, which Danfoss states guarantees accurate monitoring of critical pressures.

MBC 5000 versus MBC 5100
The MBC 5100 variant carries all major ship approvals, while the MBC 5000 is the industrial version; the approvals printed for this code are CCC, CE, EAC, LVD, RoHS, RoHS China and UA. If your project needs class-society type approval, order an MBC 5100 code instead. The block system also includes MBS transmitters and MBV test valves, so a test valve can be added to the same tapping.
The high vibration stability of the block design is the reason for the switch on diesel engines and gearboxes. With a 15 bar working pressure and a 30 bar burst rating the MBC 5000 suits lube and hydraulic control circuits but not high-pressure oil lines.
Installation and order checklist
Screw the switch into the tapping by the hexagon, plug the DIN connector (Pg 11 gland) and confirm the alarm function by lowering pressure until the contact changes. Set the pressure by removing the cover and turning the spindle; the factory value is 0.75 bar.
Before ordering, confirm the required setting, whether a marine approval is needed, the medium and the contact loading. Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat; quote 061B023466 and the quantity in your request.
Before you order 061B023466, compare it with the nameplate of the unit you intend to replace. Photographs of the nameplate help us to confirm the exact code quickly, and we will tell you plainly if a different version of the same family looks like a better fit for your duty.
Selection considerations for a low-pressure alarm
Picking the right pressure switch starts with the job it must do. For the 061B023466 that job is usually a falling-pressure alarm or shut-down: the contact changes when pressure drops below the set point, warning that lubrication, cooling or hydraulic supply is being lost. Check that the normal operating pressure of the circuit sits comfortably inside the -0.2 to 10 bar range, that the set point you need can be reached by adjustment, and that the fixed differential suits the duty. A low differential gives a sharp, repeatable alarm but means the contact resets close to the trip point, so a circuit that hovers near the set point can cause the alarm to cycle; in that case the control system may need a time delay. Confirm also that pressure peaks in the line stay below the maximum working pressure stated above.
Installation and commissioning practice
Fit the switch to a tapping where the pressure reflects the condition being protected, for example downstream of a filter or close to the bearing supply rather than at the pump discharge. Use a suitable sealing method for the G 1/4 thread and tighten by the hexagon only, never by the housing. Where pulsation is strong, choose a tapping point away from the source of the pulses so the bellows sees a steadier pressure. Wire the SPDT contact so that a broken wire or lost supply produces the safe state in the control logic, and keep the contact load within the AC15 or DC13 rating. At commissioning, raise and lower the pressure with a calibrated reference, note the actual switching point and record it on the loop sheet.
Operation and maintenance
A pressure switch that protects a machine is a safety-related item, so it deserves periodic proof testing rather than waiting for a real fault. Many operators combine the switch with an MBV test valve from the same block system so the alarm can be checked without stopping the machine. During routine rounds, check the DIN plug and cable gland for tightness, look for oil seepage at the thread, and confirm that the setting has not been disturbed. Replace the switch if the bellows shows signs of leakage or if the switching point has drifted beyond what the application tolerates.
Working in GCC conditions
Engine rooms, pump houses and compressor skids in Oman often run hot, and outdoor skids add dust and humidity from coastal air. The ambient temperature range on this page covers those conditions, but the IP65 rating only holds when the DIN plug, its gasket and the Pg 11 gland are correctly fitted and the cable is of the right diameter for the gland. Keep the connector face down or sideways where practical so water and wash-down do not collect on it.
Information for a complete RFQ
Along with the code and quantity, tell us the medium, the normal and alarm pressures, whether the duty is alarm or shut-down, and the voltage and load on the contact. This lets us confirm that the factory setting and range suit the application.
Documents and quotation
The attached Danfoss data sheet AI555629227166 covers MBC 5000 and MBC 5100, with ranges and dimensions. Related instruments are in pressure instrumentation. Compare the code table in the document with the range, the connection and the contact function you need, and send us any deviation from the standard version so that the quotation matches the intended duty.

About brand
Danfoss is the Danish engineering group that makes refrigeration and air-conditioning controls, heating components, variable speed drives and mobile hydraulics. Mads Clausen founded it on 1 September 1933 at his parents' farm in Nordborg on the island of Als, after making his first refrigeration expansion valve in 1932. Nordborg is still the group's headquarters, and Danfoss remains controlled by the Clausen family through the Bitten & Mads Clausen Foundation.

Choosing Danfoss products
For solenoid valves, check the operating principle. A direct-operated valve such as EV210B opens even at 0 bar differential pressure. A servo-operated valve such as EV220B needs a minimum differential (typically about 0.3 bar) to open, while an assisted-lift valve such as EV250B works from 0 bar. Coils are ordered separately, so the voltage on the coil (for example 230 V AC or 24 V DC) must match the control circuit. For drives, the VLT family is split by application: FC 51 Micro Drive for small machines, FC 102 HVAC Drive for fans and pumps in buildings, FC 202 AQUA Drive for water, and FC 302 AutomationDrive for demanding industrial duty.
Where Danfoss products are used
In Oman and the GCC, Danfoss drives run pumps, fans and compressors in district cooling plants, water and wastewater stations, desalination and building HVAC. Danfoss pressure switches, transmitters and solenoid valves are built into chillers, refrigeration plants, boilers and hydraulic systems, and AB-QM valves balance chilled-water circuits in large buildings.
