Hydac SB600-10A1/112S-345C Bladder Accumulator, 345 bar
Description
A 5000 psi bladder accumulator for high-pressure hydraulic circuits
The Hydac SB600-10A1/112S-345C (HYDAC part number 2054276) is the 5000 psi (345 bar) member of the HYDAC SB bladder accumulator range. At 10 litres, or 2.5 US gallons, it stores energy and absorbs pressure shocks in circuits that run above the 210 bar limit of the SB330. The heavy forged shell makes it a much heavier unit than the SB330: about 70 kg (154 lb) against 43 kg for the same size in the lower-pressure series.
The fluid port is an SAE thread, 1 7/8-12 UN (SAE-24) female, and the bladder is Buna N for mineral oil. In this catalogue entry the country designation is USA/ASME.

Reading the model code
SB 600 – 10 A 1 / 112 S – 345 C: SB600 is the 5000 psi bladder series; 10 is the size in litres; A is a threaded connection; 1 is the standard gas valve; 112 is the standard material code for mineral oil; S is the USA country of installation; 345 is the working pressure in bar; and C is the SAE (ANSI B1.1) fluid port. With no TR in the series text, this is the standard bottom-repairable design. The datasheet lists bladder alternatives (LT-NBR, ELT-NBR, ECO, IIR, FPM) for other fluids and temperatures.
When to select the SB600
Choose this series when system pressure or relief setting exceeds 210 bar, for instance on press circuits and high-pressure accumulator charging. A higher working pressure shortens the usable bladder stroke for a given precharge, so the effective volume has to be calculated from the real minimum and maximum pressures with the HYDAC sizing tools. The approvals tied to this code are the ASME/USA ones, so ask for the PED/CE code (U) or another certification if your installation requires it.
Provide a safe discharge route for the gas side before any maintenance, never exceed the maximum working pressure on the nameplate, and keep the precharge record with the machine file. HYDAC lists oil field and offshore, machine tools, mining, and mobile and construction equipment among common uses of the SB range, so also check the corrosion protection needed for the site: coated or stainless steel parts can be ordered for aggressive fluids or environments. Size the unit from the real pressure cycle rather than the shell rating.

How the SB600-10A1/112S-345C works
Like every HYDAC bladder accumulator, the SB600-10A1/112S-345C uses compressed nitrogen to store hydraulic energy. A closed elastomer bladder inside the forged steel shell separates the gas from the oil. The bladder is precharged with nitrogen through the gas valve at the top. When the system pressure exceeds the precharge, oil flows in through the fluid port and compresses the gas; when the system pressure drops, the gas expands and returns the oil to the circuit. A mechanically actuated fluid poppet valve at the fluid port closes when the oil has been expelled, keeping the bladder inside the shell.
In the standard (bottom-repairable) design, the bladder is removed through the fluid end of the shell. This means the accumulator has to be disconnected from the fluid line for bladder replacement. If the unit must stay piped during service, the top-repairable SB600TR version is the alternative.
SB600 standard size range
The datasheet lists these sizes for the SB 600 standard design. Dimensions are for general information only.
| Size | Effective gas volume | Weight | Length A |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 566 in³ | 154 lb (70 kg) | 22.4 in (568 mm) |
| 20 | 1125 in³ | 248 lb (113 kg) | 35.0 in (888 mm) |
| 32 | 2080 in³ | 413 lb (188 kg) | 55.2 in (1402 mm) |
| 54 | 3180 in³ | 611 lb (278 kg) | 78.8 in (2002 mm) |
For size 10 the datasheet also gives B = 3.1 in (80 mm), C = 2.8 in (70 mm) and E = 3.0 in (76 mm), with a maximum recommended discharge flow of 240 gpm for vertical mounting. A split-flange version of the SB600 range uses an SAE 1½″ Code 62 flange.
SB600-10A1/112S-345C selection & ordering guide
- Series: SB330 is the 3000 psi range; SB600 is the 5000 psi range. Choose the SB600 when the relief valve setting is above the SB330 rating.
- Design: no letter = standard bottom repairable; TR = top repairable.
- Bladder compound: NBR is standard for mineral oil; LT-NBR, ELT-NBR, ECO, IIR and FPM are listed for other fluids and temperatures. The standard design has a maximum operating temperature of 200 °F.
- Fluid port: C = SAE thread (ANSI B1.1); A = BSPP, B = metric, D = NPT, and flanged options are also listed.
- Country of installation: S = USA; U = PED/CE, S1 = Canada CRN, W1 = ABS, W3 = DNV.
Our team can help confirm the correct ordering code if your site needs a different port or approval.
Installation & maintenance
- For energy storage, mount vertically with the fluid port at the bottom; horizontal or angled mounting reduces the usable volume.
- Support the 70 kg shell with HYDAC clamps and brackets to reduce the risk of failure from vibration.
- Fit a safety and shut-off block so the unit can be isolated, protected and discharged.
- Precharge with nitrogen only, using a charging and gauging unit, and check the precharge at regular intervals with the oil side discharged.
- Only trained personnel should service high-pressure accumulators, following local pressure vessel rules.
Typical applications in Oman & the GCC
In Oman and the GCC, 345 bar bladder accumulators are used on high-pressure hydraulic presses, wellhead and valve control systems, test benches, and mining and construction machines whose circuits run above 210 bar. A 10 litre unit is a compact choice for shock absorption and energy storage close to the actuator.

About brand
HYDAC is the German hydraulics group known for hydraulic filters, accumulators and electronic pressure and temperature sensors. It was founded in 1963 in Sulzbach, Saarland, by Werner Dieter and Otmar Schön. The name comes from "hydraulic accumulator", the first product it made under licence. It is still a family company headquartered in Sulzbach.
Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list HYDAC filters, filter elements, accumulators, pressure transmitters and switches, and supply them for hydraulic power units, turbines, compressors and mobile machines in Oman and the GCC.

Most hydraulic failures start with dirty or wet oil. That is why a system has filters at several points: a pressure filter in front of sensitive valves, a return filter that cleans what comes back to the tank, and a breather that stops dust and humidity entering as the oil level moves. The filter element's rating (for example 3, 10 or 25 µm) and its material decide what cleanliness class the oil reaches. On HYDAC sensors, the type code also sets the pressure range, the output and the connector. For example, HDA 4445-A-400-000 is a 4-20 mA transmitter for 0-400 bar.
Where HYDAC products are used
In Oman and the GCC, HYDAC filters, accumulators and sensors are used on turbine and compressor lube oil systems, hydraulic power units, offshore and marine hydraulics, cranes, presses, steel and aluminium plants, and construction and mobile machines.
