Timken Wireless Sensor and Monitoring Solution
Description
Wireless vibration and temperature monitoring with on-premises data
The Timken Wireless Sensor and Monitoring Solution is a condition monitoring system that measures vibration and temperature on rotating equipment and sends the data wirelessly to a gateway receiver. The sensor is installed into the equipment to be monitored and provides real-time performance data, so a failure or major change can be detected before it happens.
The data is stored on the gateway, not in the cloud, and stays under the owner control. A dashboard visualizes the data and sends an email alert when vibration or temperature thresholds are reached. Timken states that there are no subscription fees and that the sensor battery is estimated to last more than five years, depending on operating temperature and configuration.

How the system works
Sensors transmit their values directly or through other nodes to a gateway. This mesh technology lets sensors relay each other, extending the distance to a single gateway receiver. From the gateway the data can be viewed over a Wi-Fi access point or over a direct Ethernet connection.
The Timken Dashboard measures triaxial vibration and temperature, sets alert thresholds, creates and manages groups, detects anomalies and sends email alerts. Alerts and visualization work without an existing condition monitoring system, and the data can also be downloaded for use in existing condition monitoring and visualization tools.
Installation is simple in principle: the sensor threads into the equipment through its 1/8-27 NPT mounting thread, the gateway is placed within wireless range of the sensors, and the dashboard is opened from a phone or desktop browser. Timken also publishes a quick start guide and a user manual for setup, thresholds and alert configuration, which should be read before the first installation.
Choosing and ordering
Select the sensor and gateway variant (standard or enclosed) against the ambient temperature, the ingress protection needed and the network available on site. The mounting thread, the cable and power arrangement and the number of sensors per gateway should be confirmed with the Timken user manual before ordering. Other products are grouped under Electric Motors, Pumps and Turbines.

Timken products we list
Ordering Timken bearings: what we need
Give the complete part number stamped on the bearing, including any prefix and suffix. Inch-series tapered roller bearings have separate numbers for cone and cup, so quote both. If the marking is worn, measure bore, outside diameter and width and tell us the machine and shaft position. For housed units give the housing type, shaft size and locking method. State the quantity and any precision class or special clearance required.
Facts checked against Timken's SEC filings and published company histories, October 2026.
