Hilti PLT 300 Robotic Digital Layout Tool

Description

The Hilti PLT 300 is a robotic digital layout tool for one-person construction stake-out. It combines a motorised green laser pointer, distance measurement accuracy of plus or minus 3 mm plus 10 ppm, automatic stationing with tilt compensation and a tablet controller, so that points from CAD or BIM data are marked directly on floors, ceilings and formwork.

Digital stake-out for formwork, MEP points and as-built checks

Hilti lists staking out 2D and 3D positions from digital CAD or BIM input, laying out formwork, excavation positions and MEP fastening points on floors and ceilings, laying out single and dual slopes, transferring building control lines, and as-built measurement with real-time area and volume calculations. The operator taps a stake-out point on the controller and the tool localises it with the motorised green laser pointer. Hilti states that digital layout tools cut the labour for construction staking in half while increasing the number of points possible in a day.

Controller and software notes

The Hilti product page lists the PLC 600 and PLC 400 layout tablets as the controllers, while the operating instructions describe the PLC 300 controller with a 7.1 Ah, 7.2 V battery and 8 hours of battery life, so confirm which controller the current kit uses. Hilti describes the tool as BIM-ready. Stake-out input comes from CAD or BIM data, and the kit on the Hilti page lists only the tool and its case, so the controller and layout software are separate items.

Selection and ordering checks

Confirm the controller tablet, battery and charger, tripod, reflective targets or accessories and the software subscription required by the layout workflow. The Hilti manual notes a maximum site elevation of 2,000 m and 90 percent humidity. For simple levelling and alignment compare the PM 50MG-22 and PR 40-22 lasers.

About brand

Hilti is the Liechtenstein construction technology company for fastening, anchoring, firestop, installation and power tool systems. The brothers Martin and Eugen Hilti opened a small mechanical workshop in Schaan, Liechtenstein, in 1941, and the company turned to fastening technology after Martin Hilti acquired a fastening patent in 1948. Hilti is still headquartered in Schaan and controlled by the Martin Hilti Family Trust, created in 1980.

Seven Star LLC is an independent supplier in Muscat. We list Hilti power tools and firestop products, each with the manufacturer operating instructions, for contractors and maintenance teams in Oman and the GCC.
