A cast steel Free Float trap for medium to high pressure process steam

The TLV JH5RL-P is a cast steel Free Float steam trap for small to medium-size process equipment and steam mains running at higher pressures. A self-modulating, precision-ground float gives continuous, low-velocity condensate discharge as load changes, and a constant water seal with three-point seating keeps the trap steam-tight even under no-load conditions. The P in the model code means there is no automatic air vent: TLV positions the JH-P type for steam mains and processes over 4.6 MPaG with extended continuous operation and little entrained air. The same specification sheet covers the JH5RH-P for pressures up to 8.0 MPaG.

How it fits within the JH series

TLV groups the JH series by venting type. JH-X models carry an X-element air vent for processes up to 3.2 MPaG that need hot air discharged, JH-B models use a bimetal vent for steam processes above 3.2 MPaG, and JH-P models are plain float traps for the highest pressures. A manual air vent or a pressure balancing tube can be fitted at the threaded connection on the cover. Choose the orifice number from the actual differential pressure, since PMO and the allowable differential pressure change with the orifice fitted.
