TLV JH7RH-B Free Float Steam Trap for 10 MPaG Steam

Description

An extreme-pressure Free Float trap in low alloy cast steel

The TLV JH7RH-B is a low alloy cast steel Free Float steam trap for medium-size process equipment where pressure or temperature exceeds what ordinary cast steel traps allow. TLV rates the JH7RH-B up to 10 MPaG at 425 °C, and its sister models JH7RH-P and JH7RH-W reach 12 MPaG at 530 °C. All are offered in 15, 20 and 25 mm with socket-weld or flanged ends, and TLV states they are also suitable for superheated steam. A thermostatic bimetal vent on the B model vents air at start-up, while the P and W models replace it with a threaded cover plug or a cover socket connection.

Where the JH7RH is used

TLV describes this body as suitable for superheated and extremely high-pressure applications, which places it beyond the ratings of standard cast steel (WCB) traps such as the JH5 types. The self-modulating float gives continuous low-velocity discharge, and the constant water seal with three-point seating keeps the trap steam-tight even under no load. Air venting differs by variant: choose JH7RH-B when cold start-ups need automatic venting, and JH7RH-P or JH7RH-W for the highest pressure and temperature, where the cover plug or socket replaces the vent. Related models in TLV’s JH group include the JH7RL-B (4.6 MPaG), JH7RM-B (6.5 MPaG) and JH7RH-P (12 MPaG at 530 °C).

Selection and documents

TLV recommends a safety factor of at least 1.5 on condensate load and warns not to exceed the maximum differential pressure, since condensate will back up. Capacity data assumes continuous discharge of condensate 6 °C below saturation temperature. Compare with the lower pressure or browse the steam trap category. The attached TLV specification sheet (Rev. 9/2024) lists materials by part, dimensions and capacity charts. Send pressure, temperature, end connection and weld standard with your enquiry, and confirm the model code against current TLV documents before ordering.

About brand

TLV is a Japanese manufacturer of steam system equipment whose range centres on steam traps, with pressure reducing valves, control valves, condensate recovery pumps and related products for steam and condensate lines. The company traces its origin to Fujiwara Manufacturing, founded in Kakogawa in 1950 and renamed TLV in 1972. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, offers TLV products to industrial buyers on request.

TLV steam traps and steam system products

TLV steam traps are grouped by operating principle: Free Float mechanical traps for process equipment and steam mains, PowerDyne and thermodynamic disc traps, thermostatic traps and clean steam traps. The catalogue also lists cyclone separators, separator filters, check valves, strainers, air vents, manifolds, steam trap stations and condensate recovery pumps. Each product has a numbered specification sheet that gives pressure and temperature limits, materials by part, dimensions and a discharge capacity chart.

Choosing a TLV product

Selection starts from steam pressure, back pressure, condensate load and the type of equipment being drained. Send the operating conditions and the model code with your enquiry and Seven Star LLC will confirm availability and documents before you order.
