Brand:

Sulzer SES End-Suction EN 733 Centrifugal Pump

Description

A long-coupled EN 733 end-suction pump for water supply and building services

The Sulzer SES is an end-suction centrifugal pump built to or exceeding EN 733 and in conformity with the ErP Directive 2009/125/EC. It is a long-coupled pump that can be delivered as a complete skid with a Sulzer motor or a motor of another brand, or as a bare-shaft pump connected to an existing motor. Sulzer lists water supply facilities, water distribution networks, irrigation, heating and cooling systems and general industry as typical uses, and the pump can be certified for drinking water applications to the ACS standard (other standards on request).

Why the design suits maintenance teams

The back pull-out design lets the hydraulic part be removed without disturbing the pump body in the pipework, and the shaft seal can be serviced without dismantling the pump. The closed impeller is dynamically balanced with balance holes to reduce axial thrust on the bearings, and the suction profile is designed to reduce NPSH requirements.

What to confirm before ordering

State duty flow and head, liquid and temperature, frequency and pole number, impeller and body material, seal type and whether a bare-shaft pump or a complete skid with motor is wanted. The brochure presents performance ranges rather than individual sizes, so the exact pump size must be selected against the duty point. Related pumps are listed under Pumps, for example the KSB Omega.

About brand

Pressure sewer systems that discharge through narrow pipe rely on grinder pumps, and the ABS Piranha is the Sulzer answer to that duty. Sulzer has worked in pumps and fluid engineering since 1834 from Winterthur, Switzerland. Seven Star LLC lists the Sulzer ABS Piranha PIR-S21/2 submersible grinder pump and supplies Sulzer pumps and parts to utilities and contractors in Oman.

Sulzer ABS Piranha grinder pump series

The Piranha range is split into the S series, which includes the S21, and the PE series with IE3 motors. In front of the impeller sit a spiral bottom plate, a stationary cutter ring and a shredding rotor that cut cloths and plastic before they reach the hydraulics. The bottom plate is adjustable to take up wear. Versions exist for 50 Hz and 60 Hz, three-phase 400 V and single-phase 230 V supplies.

Ordering Sulzer pumps and spare parts: what we need

Send the full type designation and the serial number from the nameplate, the supply voltage, phase and frequency, the discharge size, and whether an explosion-protected version is required. For cutter or seal parts, the nameplate photo is enough for us to trace the parts list. This applies equally to GCC municipal projects.
