Brand:

NAFFCO NP Series UL Listed ABC Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers

Description

UL-rated ABC dry powder extinguishers from 2.5 lb to 20 lb

The NAFFCO NP series are stored-pressure ABC dry chemical portable extinguishers carrying the UL mark on the manufacturer datasheet. The four sizes, NP 2.5L, NP 05L, NP 10L and NP 20L, share the same construction and differ in agent capacity, UL rating and discharge time. The datasheet describes them as suitable for freely burning materials, petrol, oil, gas and electrical equipment, and as ideal for vehicle and marine risks.

Where these extinguishers fit

The datasheet lists public areas such as offices, classrooms, parking garages and hotel assembly halls, and businesses such as retail stores, light manufacturing facilities, research facilities, car showrooms, vehicle, aircraft and marine service centres, and painting, dipping and coating processes. It states that the extinguishers are not suitable for fires involving cooking oil and grease and are not recommended on sensitive electronic equipment or aircraft structure, so kitchens call for a wet chemical unit and server rooms for a clean agent or CO2 unit instead.

What to confirm before ordering

These are UL-rated units. If your project specifies EN 3 or a local civil defence approval, confirm the required certification with the supplier before ordering, because NAFFCO lists separate Kitemark-approved dry powder extinguishers. Also confirm the size, valve material, bracket and any signage. Other fire-fighting equipment is listed under Fire Fighting.

About brand

NAFFCO, founded in 1991 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, manufactures fire fighting equipment, from extinguishers and hose cabinets to pumps and riser valves. Seven Star LLC lists NAFFCO extinguishers, hose reels, hydrants and landing valves, among them two oblique landing valves to BS 5041, the NDR 097 with threaded inlet and the NDR 098 with flanged inlet, and supplies NAFFCO fire fighting products to contractors and building owners in Oman.

NAFFCO landing valves and riser equipment

A landing valve is the outlet on a wet riser where the fire service connects a hose on each floor. NAFFCO groups its landing valves into a Kitemark and LPCB approved line and a separate FM approved line, so the approval is tied to the model, not to the brand as a whole. The NDR 097 and NDR 098 differ in how they join the riser branch: screwed or bolted.

Ordering NAFFCO equipment: what we need

Send the NAFFCO model number, the inlet type and size, the outlet coupling standard, and the approval your consultant or civil defense authority asks for. Add the riser working pressure and the quantity per floor. For other items, the model number from the NAFFCO datasheet is the best reference. We receive the same data from GCC projects outside Oman.
