Yuasa SWL3300 12V 110Ah High-Rate AGM Battery

Description

The Yuasa SWL3300 is a 12 V, 110.2 Ah AGM valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery from the Yuasa SWL series, a high-rate range intended for UPS and standby power duty where the battery must deliver a large current for a short time. Yuasa classifies it as EUROBAT long life, 10 to 12 years, with a design life at 20 °C of up to 10 years.

High-rate AGM battery for UPS and standby systems

The SWL series is optimised for discharge times of about 5 to 30 minutes, which is the typical autonomy of online UPS systems, switchgear control supplies and telecom shelters. The SWL3300 gives a typical constant-power rating of 3,300 W per block to 9.6 V at 20 °C for a 10 minute discharge, equal to 550 W per cell to 1.6 V per cell. Capacity is 110.2 Ah at the 20 hour rate and 22.9 Ah at the 10 hour rate.

Each cell has a low-pressure release valve that vents gas and reseals. The case is ABS to UL94:HB, and the terminals are M8 female. Because the battery is sealed, no water top-up is needed, but it still releases hydrogen under fault or overcharge, so it must not be placed in a sealed container. The heavier SWL3300 suits larger UPS strings; related items on this site include the Yuasa NP12-12, and more batteries are listed under UPS and batteries.

Installation notes

The data sheet allows installation and operation in orientations up to 90 degrees from upright. Batteries must not be lifted or suspended by their handles. Use a charger or UPS rectifier set to the float and cyclic voltages above, compensated for battery temperature, and keep the charge current within the 25.625 A limit. At the end of life the battery must be recycled in line with local regulations. Yuasa quotes ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and UL recognition for its manufacturing and products.

About brand

Yuasa, a brand of Kyoto-based GS Yuasa Corporation with roots going back to 1918, is known for sealed lead-acid batteries used in standby power. Its NP series of valve-regulated batteries serves standby and cyclic duty in UPS units, alarm panels and control cabinets. Seven Star LLC lists the Yuasa NP12-12 and supplies Yuasa sealed lead-acid batteries to industrial and commercial facilities in Oman.

Yuasa NP batteries listed here

The Yuasa NP12-12 is a 12 V, 12 Ah sealed lead-acid battery of the absorbent glass mat type with Faston terminals. In NP designations the first number is the capacity in ampere-hours and the second is the nominal voltage, so NP7-12 would be a 7 Ah, 12 V block. Extra letters after the number mark a variant, such as FR for a flame-retardant case.

Ordering Yuasa batteries: what we need

Send the full type printed on the battery, including any suffix letters, and the quantity. Tell us the equipment it serves, such as a UPS model or a fire alarm panel, and the terminal type on the old battery. Measure length, width and height if the label is missing. For a UPS, state how many blocks are in the string, since they should be replaced together. We also quote Yuasa batteries for buyers elsewhere in the GCC.
