The Sungrow SG33CX-P2 is a three-MPPT string inverter for 1000 Vdc systems with 33 kW rated output (36.3 kVA maximum). It shares one datasheet with the SG25CX-P2 and SG30CX-P2, so the same housing, DC architecture and communications cover all three ratings.

Sungrow stresses easy handling, with a weight reduced by 34 percent to 38 kg, plug-and-play wiring with a buckle design, 15 A DC current input compatible with 500 W-plus modules, a built-in PID recovery function, IP66 protection, C5 anti-corrosion and AFCI 2.0.

Choosing 25, 30 or 33 kW

Because the three ratings share hardware, choose the one that matches the utility export limit and array size: the 33 kW unit supports up to 46.2 kWp of modules, a derived DC/AC ratio of 1.4. Check that the AC cable (16 to 35 mm2, OT terminal) and breaker suit the 55.2 A maximum current, and note the footnote that apparent power of the 30 kW model is limited to 30 kVA in certain countries. Optimizer and RSD compatibility need prior consultation with Sungrow.

Installation and operation notes

Handling is easy at 38 kg for a 645 x 575 x 245 mm unit, and the buckle design speeds wall-bracket mounting. AC cable uses OT lugs; DC uses Evo2 connectors up to 6 mm2. Leave air clearance for forced cooling, commission through Bluetooth and the app, and use RS485 for data logging. Follow the user manual for the full-load MPPT voltage range.

Where the SG33CX-P2 is used

It fits mid-size commercial rooftops, workshops and car-park canopies where three MPPTs are enough. The 60 C operating limit and C5 rating address hot and coastal environments, subject to normal shading and ventilation checks. Utility interconnection rules for each GCC country are separate from the datasheet.

Installation and selection notes

Design the string layout from the module data so that the voltage and current stay inside the inverter window over the temperature range at the site, and plan mounting with enough clear space for cooling. Check the AC cable size, the protection devices, the communication method and the local grid connection requirements before ordering, and keep the commissioning record for the warranty file.
