Roxtec RM Multidiameter Cable and Pipe Seal Modules
Description
The Roxtec RM Multidiameter module is the sealing insert of the Roxtec transit system: a 60 mm deep, two-halved module with removable layers that adapts to the diameter of the cable or pipe it holds. Modules are stacked in a Roxtec frame together with a stayplate and wedge, and cover cable and pipe outer diameters from 3.0 to 99.0 mm. Fitted with a solid core instead of a cable, the same module is a spare slot for future capacity. This page lists the RM range shown on the Roxtec product page; RM 40 is a typical mid-size module.

Choosing the module size
Select the module by the outer diameter of the cable or pipe, not by the conductor size, and allow for the actual jacket diameter from the cable data sheet. Roxtec gives each module a range, for example RM 20 for 4 to 14.5 mm and RM 30 for 10 to 25 mm, so mixed-diameter bundles can be placed in the same frame by using different module sizes. The layers inside each module are removed until the module closes with a small gap around the cable; the installation instruction for the openable frame calls for a gap of 0.1 to 1.0 mm between the two halves when held against the cable, and the number of layers in the two halves may not differ by more than one.
Use the lubricant supplied by Roxtec on all sealing surfaces, insert the modules fully to the edge of the frame, and tighten the compression in small steps to the recommended torque. Plan spare capacity at design stage by including solid-core modules, because adding a cable later then needs only a module swap, not a new opening.
