Vortice MPC-E 302 M Long Cased Axial Fan 300 mm 42209

Description

42209 is the Vortice MPC-E 302 M, a medium-pressure axial fan in a long, flanged cylindrical casing for 300 mm ducts. It runs on a single-phase 220-240 V two-pole motor at 2,940 rpm and delivers 2,850 m3/h at up to 588 Pa, the highest pressure in the MPC-E range.

A cased axial fan for duct runs that need real pressure

A cased fan is installed between two duct flanges, where a plate fan would have to discharge to open air. Vortice’s booklet calls the MPC-E a medium-pressure industrial axial fan for extraction into a ventilation duct or direct air expulsion outdoors; it can be applied to ventilation ducts or through air cleaning filters and is suitable for all installations in which a loss of pressure occurs.

The casing is two rolled steel flange sections, welded, phosphated and polyester powder coated grey with a hammered effect. The single-speed single-phase motor turns on double shielded ball bearings, insulation class F, and drives six wing-profile polypropylene blades on a diecast aluminium hub, dynamically balanced to UNI ISO 1940 class 6.3.

Selection and ordering guide

In the 300 mm size the 302 M is the high-pressure choice: 588 Pa against only 99 Pa for the MPC-E 304 M (2,160 m3/h, 110 W). If the duct system is short and the pressure drop low, the 304 M uses far less power; if the pressure drop is high (filters, long runs, bends), the 302 M gives the headroom.

For three-phase supplies use the 302 T version (42309, 380-415 V, 2,900 m3/h, 588 Pa, 360 W).

Installation and operation notes

The booklet says to install the fan in a duct or discharge it outside, to protect the circuit with an overload device calibrated to the data-plate current, to connect it to an efficient earth and to ensure the supply can provide the full electrical power required. If installed outdoors, adequate weather protection must be provided.

Extracted air must not be dusty, acidic or corrosive. Fit duct flanges that match the casing flange and support the 12.3 kg body, so the weight does not load the duct.

Applications in Oman and the GCC

Extraction through filters or over long duct runs in workshops, laundries, kitchens and process rooms handling clean, non-corrosive air where the available static pressure is high.

The -25 C to 70 C ambient range allows fitting in unconditioned plant spaces. For acid or corrosive contaminants, choose a corrosion-resistant fan instead.

Compatible accessories and related items

Same casing family: MPC-E 254 M (42263), 354 T (42317) and 404 M (42228). Accessories for the MPC series (flanges, speed controllers) are shown in the Vortice product documentation.

Sizing and maintenance notes

A cased axial fan is chosen when the fan sits inside a duct run and must overcome real system pressure. Calculate the losses of the duct, bends, grilles, filters and any louvres, and select the fan at that point on its curve, keeping a margin for filter loading. Short straight duct sections before and after the fan help it reach the catalogue performance, while a bend directly at the inlet reduces airflow and increases noise.

Use flexible connectors at the flanges to reduce vibration and noise in the duct, and support the fan independently of the ductwork. In plant rooms and roof spaces that become hot in summer, check the motor ambient rating, and where the fan handles warm air from kitchens or process areas, confirm the maximum air temperature.

Inspect the impeller, motor and fixings during routine maintenance, and clean the blades where dust or grease builds up, since deposits reduce airflow and can cause imbalance.
