Winsonic NE11009-00442A 8-Port Gigabit + 2 SFP Unmanaged High PoE Switch

Description

An unmanaged eight-port PoE switch with a 185 W budget

The NE11009-00442A is an industrial-grade unmanaged PoE switch. It has eight 10/100/1000 Mbps adaptive RJ45 ports, all of which supply PoE, and two 1000 Mbps SFP slots. The ordering line calls it an 8-Port Gigabit + 2G SFP Industrial High PoE Switch with ports 1 to 8 supporting IEEE 802.3at.

Power is delivered on both RJ45 modes: Mode A on pins 1/2 and 3/6, and Mode B on pins 4/5 and 7/8. The total PoE budget is 185 W from a 200 W power supply rating.

An unmanaged PoE switch is the practical choice for fast deployment: plug the cameras in and they power up. The port power priority function in the feature list helps keep important nodes powered if the load approaches the budget. The two SFP slots allow a fibre uplink to the control room, so the copper ports are all available for powered endpoints.

Features and a note on per-port power

The datasheet lists automatic detection of powered devices, port power priority to keep key nodes alive when the budget is tight, wire-speed forwarding, MDI/MDIX auto-flip, CCTV and VLAN functions, and a fanless all-aluminium roof groove.

One caution: the overview text says each port can supply up to 90 W while the feature list says a maximum of 30 W per port. Because the two statements disagree, this page does not state a per-port maximum; confirm the figure for your powered devices with Winsonic before specifying 60 W or 90 W loads.

Selection and planning

Choose this model for plain PoE distribution where no management is needed: CCTV rows, wireless access points and IP intercoms. Where VLAN, ring or SNMP are required use the managed NE11003-20844B. For a non-PoE unit with the same ports choose NE11008-00832A, and see NE11007-00842A for another unmanaged PoE option.

Design to the 185 W total. The 145 x 109 x 62 mm housing mounts on rail or wall and needs a 48 to 57 V DC feed, which is higher than the 12 to 55 V of the non-PoE models.

Because the switch is unmanaged, it will not give per-port PoE reports or schedules; if those are required, the managed NE11003-20844B is the alternative. To size the power system, add the draw of every powered device and compare with the 185 W budget, then provide a 48 to 57 V DC supply with capacity above the 200 W rating plate figure. The datasheet shows PoE on both pin modes, with Mode A on pins 1/2 and 3/6 and Mode B on pins 4/5 and 7/8, which means standard powered devices are supported regardless of the pair they expect.

The unit is 145 x 109 x 62 mm, fanless, rated -40 to 75 degrees C and carries surge protection of 2 kV differential and 4 kV common mode. Install it in a cabinet with good airflow around the aluminium body, since a full PoE load produces heat in the enclosure. Non-condensing humidity of 5% to 95% is specified.

Documents and quotation

The NE11009-00442A manufacturer datasheet is attached. Seven Star LLC supplies Winsonic equipment from Muscat; send the model code and the load list. See Industrial Communications.

Please include the list of powered devices, the supply voltage available and the SFP module type in the enquiry. Because the datasheet contains inconsistent per-port power statements, we confirm the exact per-port limit with the manufacturer before quoting for high-power loads such as PTZ cameras or heaters. Related Winsonic switches and SFP modules appear on the site as well.

For a quotation, also mention the cable lengths to the powered devices, because the 100 metre Ethernet limit applies to power delivery as well as data.

Delivery format, packaging and lead time are confirmed in the written quotation. Please state how many NE11009-00442A units are needed and whether SFP modules are to be quoted with them, so the two slots on every unit are matched to the fibre run and the cabinet power supply.

About brand

Rail-grade Ethernet switches with M12 connectors, industrial cellular routers and panel PCs are the Winsonic products buyers ask us for most. Winsonic is known as a maker of industrial LCD monitors and touch displays, and the products listed here add networking and computing hardware for places where office equipment does not survive: trains and buses, roadside cabinets, pump stations and factory floors.

Seven Star LLC is the Winsonic agency for Oman and the GCC and lists Winsonic EN 50155 switches, 4G and 5G routers and gateways, SFP transceivers, panel PCs and rack mount monitors.

Winsonic product families

The M12 switches on this page are specified to EN 50155, the standard for electronic equipment on rail vehicles. Listed models include the L2 managed NE10002 and the NE10003 in IP68 housings, the unmanaged NE10004 with 10G ports and IP65 sealing, the unmanaged NE10005 and the 5-port IP68 NE10006, with PoE+ or PoE++ ports depending on the model. On the cellular side the listing covers NE24 series industrial cellular routers and edge gateways, the NE20001 vehicle-grade 5G transit gateway and the NE31001 outdoor LTE-A router. WSFP Gigabit SFP transceivers provide the fiber uplinks. Computing and display products include the PZB zero bezel panel PC and the RM rack mount monitor, next to the flush mount and zero bezel LCD monitors Winsonic builds for industrial use.

Where Winsonic equipment is used

Typical uses are on-board networks for trains, metro cars and buses, wayside cabinets, traffic management, remote pump stations and water plants, energy metering at unmanned sites, and machine monitoring and operator stations in factories.

Ordering Winsonic switches and routers: what we need

Send the complete part number, including the digits after the hyphen, because they separate variants of the same base model. Where you are still selecting, give us:

  • port count, port speed and connector type (M12 coding or RJ45)
  • PoE power needed per port and the supply voltage available
  • managed or unmanaged operation, and the IP rating required
  • for routers: mobile operator, SIM count, serial or Ethernet interfaces
  • for panel PCs: screen size, touch type, processor and mounting
