The Deye SUN-10K-G02P1-EU-AM2 is a single-phase grid-tied string inverter with a 10 kW rating, two MPP trackers and room for 15 kW of PV. Fanless solar for a heavy single-phase load

When to choose 10 kW

Choose the 10K when the roof can take about 15 kW of modules and the single-phase supply and export rules allow 10 kW. Otherwise the 9 kW unit offers the same enclosure with lower current. The 50 A maximum AC current is the number that sets cable and breaker size. With a 1.5 ratio of PV to AC it reaches full power earlier in the day and holds it later, which suits sites with a steady daytime load such as pumps and cold rooms.

Guidance from the user manual

The manual uses the start sequence common to Deye string inverters: close the AC breaker, then the PV-side DC breaker, then the inverter switch, and reverse the order to stop. It asks for a near-vertical mounting angle with only a small permitted tilt, a minimum gap between inverters shown on a diagram, and a wall that can carry the weight. A single breaker must not serve several inverters. It also lists the tools needed, such as a crimping tool and a heat gun, and gives cable sizes by rating.

Hot-weather siting

Direct sun raises internal temperature and can reduce output, so shade the unit or use a sun shield in the hottest months. Keep the surroundings open so convection works, and avoid closed cupboards.

Practical notes

A 15 kW PV input against 10 kW of AC gives a ratio of 1.5. Both trackers run 26 A per input, so strings of equal length on each side keep the currents balanced. The 14.8 kg cabinet is light for its power, but allow a bracket rated for the weight and clear wall space around it. The display is a simple LCD1602, so detailed monitoring is done over Wi-Fi or LAN.

Selection and installation notes

A grid-tied string inverter is selected from the array size, the string voltage window and the grid connection. Check the string open-circuit voltage at the lowest site temperature against the input limit and the operating voltage at high temperature against the MPPT window, balance the strings on each tracker, fit DC isolators and surge protection and keep the clearances on the data sheet. In hot sites allow for output derating, shade the unit and have the grid settings approved by the utility before connection.
