The Sungrow SG3.0RS is a 3000 W single-phase string inverter with two independent MPPT inputs, part of the SG3.0/3.6/4.0RS series on one datasheet. At 10 kg and 410 x 270 x 150 mm it is light enough for hand installation without lifting machinery, and it is suitable for 50 Hz and 60 Hz grids.

It offers a wide MPPT range from 40 V to 560 V, startup at 50 V, compatibility with high-power and bifacial modules, built-in smart PID Zero function, integrated AFCI, Type II DC and AC SPD, C5 corrosion protection, and one-click access to iSolarCloud monitoring.

Common data

SG3.0RS, SG3.6RS or SG4.0RS?

The three models have the same enclosure and electronics, differing in AC power (3000, 3680 or 4000 W) and in recommended array size (4.5, 5.4 or 6 kWp). Choose the rating from the roof area, utility export limit and the 220/230/240 V single-phase supply. The 5 kW and 6 kW models in the SG5.0/6.0RS series have a separate datasheet; we also quote the SG5.0RS. If you plan to add module-level optimizers, the datasheet asks you to consult Sungrow before ordering.

Installation and operation notes

The 10 kg unit mounts on a wall bracket and does not need lifting machinery. Natural cooling means no fan noise or filters, but the enclosure still needs shaded, ventilated wall space within the -25 C to 60 C range. DC uses MC4 connectors up to 6 mm2 and AC uses a plug-and-play connector up to 6 mm2. The ripple control and DRM interface (DI) is used where the grid operator requires remote power limitation.

Where the SG3.0RS is used

It is a residential and small-commercial inverter for villas, small shops, farms and site cabins where a single-phase supply is used. The datasheet states the unit is suited to Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and Europe grids, and its 220 to 240 V single-phase rating matches typical 230 V single-phase supplies; check local utility rules for registered inverter models before purchase.

Selection and use notes

Design the string layout from the module data so that the voltage and current stay inside the inverter window over the temperature range at the site, mount the unit with the clear space the manual requires for cooling and check the AC cable, the protection devices and the local grid connection rules before ordering. Keep the commissioning record for the warranty file.
