Brand:

Daniel Series 1200 Liquid Turbine Flow Meter DN25-DN100

Description

A self-cleaning turbine meter for loading racks and blending

The Daniel Series 1200 Liquid Turbine Meter measures liquid hydrocarbons in DN25 to DN100 (1 to 4 in.) line sizes and is used at load racks and marketing terminals for custody transfer, batch loading and in-line blending. The meter has a simple, self-cleaning flow-through bearing design that supports higher flow rates and an extended flow range, particularly on light hydrocarbons and light crude products, and the current version has potted electronics with rugged internals. Its local mounted enclosure (LME) takes one or two pickoff coils and a standard dual-channel preamplifier, which the guide says ensures total pulse integrity and virtually eliminates missing or double-counted pulses. The guide is dated June 2026.

Flow ranges and K-factors

The guide lists linear flow ranges for blade-type internals at specific gravity 0.7 to 1, with the extended maximum limited to a 20 percent duty cycle not exceeding two hours per day. Lower specific gravities, down to 0.5, narrow the linear range at the low end, and the guide gives adjustment tables for 0.6 and 0.5. K-factors for individual rotors vary, and an acceptable rotor can be nominal plus or minus 15 percent.

Size DN Linear flow range m3/h (extended max) Linear flow range BBL/h (extended max) Nominal K-factor, pulses/m3
25 (1 in.) 1.4 to 14 (16) 8.6 to 86 (99) 211,338
40 (1.5 in.) 3.0 to 30 (34) 19 to 186 (214) 105,669
50 (2 in.) 5.0 to 50 (58) 31 to 314 (361) 47,551
80 (3 in.) 15 to 148 (170) 93 to 929 (1,068) 13,737
100 (4 in.) 23 to 227 (284) 143 to 1,429 (1,785) 6,076

Selection notes

The meter is designed for pipeline operation within the API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards, Chapter 5.3, and for calibration by the proving procedures of Chapter 4. Pressure drop on water is published for each size with and without the flow conditioner, from a few millibar at minimum flow to about 0.65 to 1.1 bar at maximum standard flow for DN80 to DN100. For larger liquid line sizes, Daniel also publishes a Series 1500 guide, and the FloBoss S600+ flow computer is a typical companion on prover and loading systems; see all Flowmeters.

About brand

Daniel builds precision flow measurement and control equipment for oil and gas, including liquid turbine meters and the Senior orifice fitting used for custody transfer and fiscal metering. Seven Star LLC lists the Series 1200 and Series 1500 liquid turbine meters and the Senior orifice fitting, and supplies Daniel equipment to operators and contractors in Oman and the GCC.

Product families on this page

The Series 1200 is a DN25 to DN100 turbine meter for load racks, terminals and blending. The Series 1500 covers DN25 to DN600 for pipelines, tank farms, ship loading and FPSO service. The Senior dual-chamber orifice fitting lets operators change the orifice plate under pressure without a bypass in natural gas lines.

Ownership and naming

In 2021 Emerson sold the Daniel Measurement and Control business to Turnspire Capital Partners and kept its own ultrasonic flowmeter business, so current ultrasonic meters are Rosemount-branded and listed under Rosemount.

Ordering: what we need

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Series 1200 used for?
Custody transfer and batch or in-line blending measurement of liquid hydrocarbons; the guide names refined product loading and unloading and blending as typical applications, in line with API MPMS Chapter 5.3.
What line sizes and accuracy are offered?
DN25 to DN100 (1 to 4 in.). Standard linearity is plus or minus 0.25 percent for DN25 to DN50 (premium plus or minus 0.15 percent) and plus or minus 0.15 percent for DN80 and DN100, with repeatability of plus or minus 0.02 percent under specific calibration conditions.
What is the turndown?
Pulse output is linear with flow rate and the guide states 10:1 rangeability. For example the DN100 meter has a standard linear flow range of 23 to 227 m3/h.
Can it be installed vertically?
Yes. All DN40 and larger meters can be fitted with an optional integral flow conditioning plate, which allows vertical installation when space is limited; an expanding hanger suspension and positive rotor centring support vertical orientation.
Is Seven Star LLC a distributor of Daniel?
No. Seven Star LLC is an independent industrial supplier in Muscat and is not a distributor or agent of Daniel. We check the model, size and options against Daniel documentation before quoting.
