Description
Single-stage overhung process pump for refinery and petrochemical duties
The KSB RPH is a single-suction, single-stage heavy-duty OH2 process pump built to API 610 / ISO 13709. KSB lists it for refineries, petrochemical and chemical industries, and onshore and offshore processes. OH2 is the API designation for a horizontal, overhung, centreline-supported pump, so the casing is carried on its centreline to keep alignment under thermal growth, which is why this layout is the usual choice for hot hydrocarbon duties.
A choice of more than 70 hydraulic systems allows selection to API for higher efficiency, and the flanges are available for all common pipelines up to PN100 / ASME Class 600.

Design features that reduce load and maintenance
From DN 80 upward the pump has a double volute, which reduces radial force and shaft deflection and so lowers the load on bearings and mechanical seal. The balancing system can be selected for the specific duty point to cut axial forces, and the shaft diameter is the maximum permitted by API 610 to minimise deflection and vibration. A steel bearing bracket with integrated cooling fins and an optional fan impeller protect the unit when fluid and ambient temperatures are high, so no cooling water circuit is required. Cartridge mechanical seals are easy to install and remove.
Selecting an RPH pump
Selection starts from the duty point and the pumped fluid. Provide flow, differential head, suction conditions and NPSH available, fluid density and vapour pressure, operating and design temperature, and the API 610 material class. The leaflet lists material codes S5, S6, S8, C6, A8, D1 and D2; confirm which class your specification requires. Also state the seal plan, the driver and whether a base plate and coupling are in scope.
