Brand:

TLV J10 Float Dynamic Steam Trap for High Capacity

Description

A cast iron float-piston trap for very high condensate loads

The TLV J10 is a cast iron FLOATDYNAMIC steam trap that combines a free float pilot with a piston main valve to discharge large condensate flows from big process heat exchangers. TLV lists two models, the J10-30 and J10-60, with maximum discharge capacities of 25 and 63 t/h, and it places the series in its large-capacity group for reboilers and large heat exchangers with continuous steam use. The piston valve gives pulsing discharge at high flow and intermittent discharge at low flow, and the pilot mechanism keeps discharge close to steam temperature.

Features that suit large heat exchangers

All internal parts can be reached without removing the trap from the line, and the steam chamber design prevents damage to the valve and seat on closure. The trap works over a wide pressure range without adjustment, and a manual lock release valve helps clear steam locking and air binding. TLV recommends fitting a strainer such as the TLV Y3, YF or YDF type at the trap inlet. Larger siblings in the same group are the JH15 series (up to 4.6 MPaG, carbon steel) and the SW1U series, while the JL and JLH types use a float and lever with a double-seated valve.

Model PMO Body Max. capacity

Selection and documents

The sheet advises selecting the closest model whose capacity exceeds the actual condensate load multiplied by a safety factor of 1.2, and warns not to exceed the maximum differential pressure because condensate will back up. Capacity data is based on continuous discharge of condensate 6 degrees C below saturation temperature. Browse other options in the steam trap category. The attached TLV specification sheet lists the full parts table, dimensions and the capacity chart. Send the steam pressure, back pressure and load with your enquiry, and confirm the model code against current TLV documents before ordering.

About brand

TLV is a Japanese manufacturer of steam system equipment whose range centres on steam traps, with pressure reducing valves, control valves, condensate recovery pumps and related products for steam and condensate lines. The company traces its origin to Fujiwara Manufacturing, founded in Kakogawa in 1950 and renamed TLV in 1972. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, offers TLV products to industrial buyers on request.

TLV steam traps and steam system products

TLV steam traps are grouped by operating principle: Free Float mechanical traps for process equipment and steam mains, PowerDyne and thermodynamic disc traps, thermostatic traps and clean steam traps. The catalogue also lists cyclone separators, separator filters, check valves, strainers, air vents, manifolds, steam trap stations and condensate recovery pumps. Each product has a numbered specification sheet that gives pressure and temperature limits, materials by part, dimensions and a discharge capacity chart.

Choosing a TLV product

Selection starts from steam pressure, back pressure, condensate load and the type of equipment being drained. Send the operating conditions and the model code with your enquiry and Seven Star LLC will confirm the model and documents before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the maximum capacity of the TLV J10?
TLV lists 25 t/h for the J10-30 and 63 t/h for the J10-60.
What is the maximum operating pressure?
1.6 MPaG at up to 220 degrees C.
