Description
Paralleling control for island and grid-tied diesel gen-sets
The ComAp InteliGen4 200 is a diesel gen-set controller for the common paralleling applications: a single set or several sets running in island mode or parallel to the grid. ComAp presents it as the new generation of the InteliGen 200, which the ComAp site now lists as discontinued with this model named as its successor. One hardware platform covers both MINT (multiple sets in island) and SPtM (single set parallel to mains) applications, and it can also act as a mains controller within a gen-set system.
Load sharing and VAr sharing use the CAN bus, and cooperation with up to 32 gen-set, mains or tie controllers is supported. The controller also provides peak shaving, load shedding and a built-in PLC interpreter for user logic, with user-defined protections and setpoints on top of the default parameters.

Protections, security and extension
The ANSI function list in the datasheet includes synchronizing check (25), reverse power (32R), excitation loss (40), current and voltage unbalance (46, 47), earth fault (50G), breaker failure (50BF), over and under frequency (81O, 81U), ROCOF (81R) and vector shift (78), among others. Four unique user accounts with individual roles are supported, and the design follows ISA 62443 levels 2 to 3.
Plug-in modules are CM-RS232-485 (CM223248XBX), CM2-4G-GPS (CM24GGPSXBX), CM3-Ethernet (CM3ETHERXBX) and EM-BIO8-EFCP (EM2BIO8EXBX). CAN modules include Inteli AIN8, Inteli IO8/8, IGS-PTM, Inteli AIN8TC, Inteli AIO9/1 and IGL-RA15. Remote access uses AirGate 2.0 and the WebSupervisor cloud tool.
Choosing the right InteliGen
InteliGen4 200 suits conventional paralleling schemes with a 3.2 in monochrome display. The InteliGen 500 G2 adds a 5 in colour display, Ethernet on board and more user accounts; the InteliGen 1000 is aimed at switchgear-level projects with grid-code compliance. Confirm engine ECU communication, the AVR and governor interfaces, breaker control and the number of units on the CAN intercontroller bus before ordering, and quote the full order code.
