ComAp InteliLite 4 MRS 16 Prime-Power Gen-Set Controller

Description

Prime-power and hybrid control for a single gen-set

The ComAp InteliLite 4 MRS 16 is the InteliLite 4 variant for sets that run continuously or on demand rather than waiting for a mains failure. MRS stands for manual remote start: the set is started and stopped by an operator or a remote signal. ComAp lists three applications on the hardware: MRS as the default, Hybrid and Engine control, which suits rental fleets, site power with battery or solar, and engine-driven pumps or compressors.

Because there is no mains supervision, the controller measures only the generator side: three-phase voltage and current, frequency, engine speed from a magnetic pickup, and engine data over J1939. It keeps up to 350 history records including user logins and configuration changes, and supports load shedding and dummy load management.

Where the MRS 16 fits

Use an MRS controller where load transfer is handled elsewhere, for example towable rental sets, light-tower and pump sets, containerised sites with an external transfer switch, or a hybrid site where the set supports a battery system. The hybrid mode and the 5 V reference output for analogue sensor calibration are listed in the datasheet. Geo-fencing based on GPS needs the CM2-4G-GPS plug-in module.

Plug-in modules are the same four options as on the AMF 25: CM-RS232-485 (CM223248XBX), CM2-4G-GPS (CM24GGPSXBX), CM3-Ethernet (CM3ETHERXBX) and EM-BIO8-EFCP (EM2BIO8EXBX). Software keys listed are Modbus client (SKMODCLI03), the Engine-application PLC package (SKPLCILX01) and 400 Hz (SK400HZX01).

Ordering notes

Decide first whether mains supervision is required; if it is, the AMF 20 or AMF 25 is the correct model, not the MRS 16. Then confirm the engine ECU protocol, speed governor and AVR interface, the breaker arrangement, whether a low-temperature BLA version is needed, and which communication module the site requires. Quote the complete order code including the suffix.

About brand

ComAp is a Czech manufacturer of control systems for gen-sets and other power generation equipment, founded by three friends in 1991 and headquartered in Prague. Seven Star LLC, an independent supplier in Muscat, quotes ComAp InteliLite, InteliGen and InteliSys controllers for standby generators, paralleling plants and gas gen-set projects.

ComAp gen-set controllers

The ComAp range covers single gen-set controllers such as InteliLite 4, paralleling controllers such as InteliGen and InteliSys, engine controllers, microgrid and battery storage controllers, remote displays, communication modules and the WebSupervisor monitoring tool. ComAp datasheets give the order code, the supported plug-in modules and the extension modules for each controller.

Ordering ComAp controllers

Send the full order code, including any suffix for a low-temperature version, together with the engine make, the AVR and governor type and the communication module required. Each ComAp page here links the manufacturer datasheet so the selection can be checked before a quotation is issued.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does MRS mean?
MRS is ComAp's designation for manual remote start controllers, used where a set is started by an operator or remote signal and mains failure detection is not required.
Does the MRS 16 monitor the mains?
No. The datasheet lists generator voltage and current inputs only; for automatic mains failure use the AMF 20 or AMF 25.
Which applications can the hardware run?
MRS as the default, Hybrid and Engine, as listed on the datasheet.
Is there a low-temperature version?
Yes. IL4MRS16BLA is rated -40 to +70 °C; the standard BAA version is rated -20 to +70 °C.
How many analog inputs does it have?
Four, each switchable between resistive, voltage and current ranges: 0-2500 Ω, 0-10 V or 0-20 mA.
