Lowara e-NSC End Suction Centrifugal Pump

Description

A back pull-out end suction pump built to EN 733 and ISO 5199

The Lowara e-NSC is a single-stage, horizontal, back pull-out end suction centrifugal pump. Xylem describes it as standardised to EN 733 for dimensions and ratings and to ISO 5199 for installation, maintenance, quality and safety (ISO 5199 applies to models 50-315, 65-315, 80-315, 80-316 and DN 100 and above), with potable-water approval to ACS and DM174. It is available as a close-coupled or block version and as a frame-mounted version with a bearing bracket, and it targets water transport, HVAC, district energy, firefighting, desalination, aquaculture and power plants.

Configurations

Three layouts are offered: the compact NSCS close-coupled pump rigidly coupled to a standard motor, the block version, and the frame-mounted version with a bearing bracket for heavier duty. Casing discharge is on the centreline to reduce turbulence, and the compact configuration is stated to reduce the footprint by 17 percent. Because the casing is rated PN16 across the range, the choice between sizes depends on the duty point, the liquid and the casing and impeller material rather than on pressure class.

Typical liquids and selection notes

Xylem lists drinking water, sea water and brine, brackish water, water with solvents, cleaning products or oil, swimming pool water and condensate as typical pumped fluids. Select material for the liquid (bronze for fresh water, duplex or super-duplex for chloride-bearing duties), choose the seal from the temperature and liquid, and use Hydrovar for variable duty, noting Xylem’s statement that cutting speed by 50 percent reduces power consumption by 87.5 percent. Other Xylem pumps are listed under pumps.

About brand

Xylem works in water: pumps, treatment equipment and the instruments that measure water quality. Its products reach the market under several brand names, and the two on this page are YSI for water quality sondes and Lowara for pumps. The company was formed in 2011 and is based in Washington, D.C., USA. Seven Star LLC sources and supplies Xylem equipment for utilities, laboratories and contractors in Oman and the GCC.

Xylem brands listed: YSI and Lowara

The YSI EXO2 is a multiparameter sonde for unattended water quality monitoring. YSI describes it with seven universal sensor ports, one of them for a central antifouling wiper, powered by four D-cell batteries. With the matching sensors it reports temperature, conductivity, optical dissolved oxygen, pH, ORP, turbidity, algae pigments, fDOM and depth, among others. The sonde is sold as an instrument only; sensors and cables are separate items. Lowara pumps are listed as well, including the e-NSC, e-HM and e-SV models and the intelligent pump range.

Ordering Xylem equipment: what we need

For an EXO2, list the sensors required, the cable length, the depth option and whether a handheld or a data logger will read it. For a Lowara pump, send the full type from the nameplate, or the duty point: flow, head, liquid, temperature, motor power and supply voltage. A nameplate photo is best for a replacement pump.

Frequently Asked Questions
