Caprari NC.E EN 733 End-Suction Pumps for Fire-Fighting Units

Description

EN 733 end-suction pumps built for fire-fighting units

The Caprari NC.E is a series of EN 733 end-suction centrifugal pumps. The catalogue cover states that they comply with UNI EN 12845 and UNI EN 12259-12, and describes them as ideal for building fire-fighting units driven by electric motors or internal combustion engines. The pump casing is a volute type with a flanged delivery port; the impeller is a high-efficiency closed type with balanced axial thrust, in AISI 316 stainless steel or bronze.

The catalogue (code 996935B/05-26, 44 pages) lists two types, NC.EC and NC.EK, in sizes from DN32 to DN150 on the delivery port, mostly at 2,900 rpm, with lower speeds on the largest sizes. Unlike the monobloc NMC, the NC.E is a separate-motor pump with a back pull-out arrangement.

Key features from the catalogue

  • BACK PULL OUT design with an optional flexible coupling and spacer, so the wet end can be removed from the rear for inspection and repair without disconnecting the motor or the casing from the piping.
  • Stainless steel shaft fully protected from contact with the pumped water, guided by two ball bearings in the connecting support with permanent high-quality grease lubrication.
  • Mechanical seal housed in the connecting support, easily replaceable; seal faces silicon carbide against silicon carbide with AISI 316 spring and EPDM gaskets as standard, to DIN 24960 and ISO 3069.
  • Couples to IP55 standard electric motors with B3 mounting, or to an internal combustion engine; the French text adds that high-efficiency motors can be fitted.
  • Bronze impeller wear ring.

The largest listed duties are NC150-315EC/322-1480 at 133.3 l/s and NC150-400EC/420-2045 at 125 l/s, with 229.6 kW absorbed on the latter. The weights are for the pump only, and the dimensions pages also give the duck foot pedestal and shaft projection dimensions for each model.

Selection, ordering and installation

The code NC.E 100-200 E C 214-2900 reads series, nominal diameter and size, impeller reference, type (C or K), impeller diameter in mm and rotational speed. Choose the impeller diameter against the duty point on the model operating-data page, which carries the head, power, efficiency and NPSH curves. Keep the closed-discharge running time to the 30-second limit at 90 C.

Applications in GCC industries

The catalogue positions the NC.E for fire-fighting units with an electric or engine driver. The same EN 733 family also suits industrial and civil water duty. The catalogue states the two European standards but prints no UL, FM or other listing, and no certificate numbers, so none is claimed here. Standard seal and impeller materials are for fresh water; ask for the stainless steel impeller and a materials review for brackish or seawater service.

Selection and installation notes

Select a pump from the duty point: the flow, the head, the liquid and its temperature, the supply voltage and the expected operating hours. Check the electrical supply and cable size against the motor rating, install the pump as the manual shows on a firm base with pipework that does not strain the ports, protect the motor against overload and dry running, and fit non-return and isolation valves in the delivery line. Keep the installation and commissioning record, and plan routine inspection of seals, bearings and wear parts.

For fire-fighting service, confirm the standard, the duty point and the acceptance tests required by the local authority or the project specification before ordering.

Information needed for a quotation

Send the full model code, the quantity, the delivery location in Oman or the GCC, the intended use and any accessories needed, so that the complete package can be quoted together.

Documents and supply information

The manufacturer data sheet is attached to this page and should be read together with the project specification and the site risk assessment before a purchase is confirmed. Ratings, standards and dimensions are quoted as printed on that sheet. Lead time, stock position and certificates available with the shipment are confirmed in the quotation, and we supply to Oman and the wider GCC region for industrial, utility and building services projects.
