Description
A vertical sealless centrifugal pump for tanks, sumps and plating baths
The CTV is a vertical single-stage centrifugal pump with the casing submerged in the liquid and an asynchronous electric motor on top. It has no mechanical seal, is built in polypropylene, PVDF or AISI 316L stainless steel, and can run dry safely, so it can replace self-priming pumps for emptying tanks. Tapflo lists applications in chemical processing, surface treatment, machinery, foundry, paint, wastewater plants and circulation of galvanic baths, with particles up to 6 mm.

Plastic or stainless steel
In the plastic version the impeller has high back vanes that keep liquid away from the motor, and the motor shaft sleeve is PP or PVDF so no metal touches the liquid and nothing corrodes. The stainless steel version uses an open impeller with good solids handling and all wetted metal parts in AISI 316L. The CTV code runs: pump, size, impeller size, housing material, options, motor power and motor options, for example CTV 25-10 P-2V-07 R as printed in the brochure.
Options that matter in the field
A suction extension of 500 mm or 1000 mm lets the pump empty a tank or sump from a lower level than its immersion depth, and a suction strainer protects the impeller when the liquid is dirty. For plastic pumps a left-hand thread on the pump cover prevents the cover from unscrewing, which is recommended especially for viscous liquids. Optional ANSI or DIN flanges, loose or welded, can be fitted to the discharge. Tapflo lists leakage-free and safe dry running, low maintenance cost, replacement of self-priming pumps and handling of liquids with particles up to 6 mm as the main benefits. The pumps are REACH and RoHS compliant, with certificates that may vary by material execution. The brochure lists seven plastic models from CTV 25-9 to CTV 32-12.5 and four stainless connection variants (CTV 20-9, 25-9.8, 40-12.5 and 40-13.5), with a 40-12.5 variant offered at both 1.5 kW and 2.2 kW motor power; request the curve for the chosen model before ordering, because each impeller diameter has its own duty point.

Tapflo is a Swedish family-owned manufacturer of air-operated diaphragm pumps, centrifugal pumps and process equipment, founded in 1980 in Kungälv, near Gothenburg, by Börje Johansson and Hans Emanuelsson. It started as a supplier and agency for industrial pumps on the Swedish market before designing and building its own pumps. The Tapflo Group now has its own subsidiaries in more than 25 countries.

Tapflo product series
Air-operated diaphragm pumps include the T200 in PE or PTFE, the T420 metal 2 inch pump and the TD100 diaphragm drum pump.
Centrifugal pumps include the CTI industrial pump in AISI 316L, the CTS-I self-priming pump, the CTX-I high performance pump and the CTV vertical sealless pump.
Air-operated diaphragm pumps are self-priming, can run dry and handle viscous and abrasive liquids, while centrifugal pumps suit continuous transfer of thin liquids. Wetted materials such as PE, PTFE and stainless steel are chosen for chemical compatibility.
