The Zebra ZT610 is the high-performance 4-inch printer of the ZT600 series, designed for demanding thermal transfer and direct thermal labelling with a 4.3 in. colour touch display, 1 GB SDRAM and 2 GB on-board Flash, a Cortex A9 800 MHz processor and gigabit Ethernet.

Performance headroom for high-volume and fine-print labelling

The ZT610 keeps the 4.09 in. (104 mm) print width but widens the choice of resolution to 203 dpi (8 dots/mm), 300 dpi (11.8 dots/mm) or 600 dpi (23.62 dots/mm), and is specified for programmable speeds of 2 to 14 in./s at 203 dpi and 2 to 12 in./s at 300 dpi. A cableless quick-change platen, side-loading print mechanism and a clear bi-fold media door make supplies changes quicker.

Typical uses include serialised asset and equipment labels with small 2D codes, electrical and instrumentation identification, regulated chemical labelling and high-throughput dispatch labels.

Sensing, printhead and software facts

Gap sensing needs a 2 to 4 mm gap (3 mm preferred), 6 mm by 3 mm notch or 3 mm hole; black marks must be 3 to 11 mm long and longer than 11 mm wide with density above 1.0 ODU. The sheet gives a first-dot location of 0.14 in. +/- 0.05 in. at 203 dpi and 0.08 in. +/- 0.05 in. at 300 dpi. The ZT600 series runs on Link-OS with Zebra DNA tools for fleet management, and the sheet lists clear status of supplies without opening the door.

When to choose the ZT610 over the ZT411 or ZT620

Pick the ZT610 for the largest memory, gigabit Ethernet and the 600 dpi option in a 4-inch body; the ZT411 is the metal-mechanism alternative with a 4.3 in. display, and the ZT620 is the 6.6 in. wide version of this platform.
