AEG Protect RCS MIPe Modular Switch-Mode Rectifier System
Description
A modular, N+1 redundant rectifier with hot-swappable modules
The AEG Protect RCS MIPe is a modular switch-mode industrial rectifier and battery charger system. AEG Power Solutions designed it to be scalable, simple to use and easy to maintain, with N+1 redundancy and hot-swappable rectifier modules. The company lists low electromagnetic pollution, high efficiency, low input current harmonics and a power factor of 0.99.
The MIPe family is offered as a floor-standing cabinet system, as a 19-inch battery charger subrack and as a compact 19-inch rectifier rack with an integrated CoSSMIC Slot controller. Systems and racks can also take DC/DC converter modules. Typical applications are power generation, T and D, oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical, heavy industry, mining and transportation signalling.

Standard system, racks and options
The standard cabinet system has a 19-inch subrack that holds up to 100 hot-swappable rectifier modules, an internal input switch, a digital control card, an LCD with two LEDs, a common fault alarm, a 180 degree door with three-point lock, bottom cable entry and low-smoke halogen-free wiring. The 19-inch subrack takes up to 16 rectifier or DC/DC converter modules, and the rectifier rack with CoSSMIC Slot controller takes up to 3.
Options include AC and DC protection and distribution, surge arrestors, relay cards, remote commands such as boost charge and remote shutdown, battery low-voltage disconnect, battery shunt or hall-effect sensor, matching battery cabinets, a temperature probe, communication via RS232/RS485 Modbus, TCP/IP and Profibus DP, DNP3 or IEC 61850 converters, IP43 cabinet, anti-condensation heater and special colours.
Ordering notes and what to confirm
The datasheet describes configured systems rather than a single part number, so the quotation depends on the DC voltage, current, number of modules for N+1 redundancy, battery type (including gas-recombination and Li-ion) and the option list. Module data is on the separate MIPe NewGen module datasheet.
Confirm the mains configuration (single phase or three phase with neutral), the cabinet or rack format, the protection and distribution required inside the cabinet, and the SCADA protocol before ordering.
