A compact industrial UPS with an isolated inverter output
The AEG Protect 8 S14 is an industrial-grade monoblock UPS rated 10 to 120 kVA with three-phase 380/400/415 VAC input. Output is three-phase 380/400/415 VAC or single-phase 220/230/240 VAC. It uses double-conversion topology and a small footprint, and AEG Power Solutions describes it as suitable for harsh environments with an expected lifetime of at least 20 years.
An inverter transformer isolates the output from the DC voltage and allows two separate mains sources to be used. The design is described as a solution without an input transformer, with high overload capacity and high efficiency even at low output power. Up to eight UPS units can be run in redundant parallel operation.
